I do not go to the store for milk, I go to a ranch across the valley. It is a gorgeous drive on a good day, a little dicey when it is wet. It is not maintained by the county during winter and gets pretty sloppy. It makes for a LOVELY afternoon cruise though, and last time I went the weather WAS lovely. I took the long way home so I could swing past this old cottonwood tree, probably most of 100 years old. It is at an intersection so has been trimmed often and somewhat carelessly, but the old girl is still putting out her spring growth and looking lovely as a sapling. On either side of the tree, you can just make out the white caps of some mountains, they are the subjects of the photos below.
All photos were taken with my Fuji FinePix S8300 and these are cropped, but not otherwise edited. The day was THAT beautiful! A few more of the amazing views on my milk run last week:

poor tree!! It really got mangled. But it will survive. Such a cool thing- tree at the crossroad!
