LandscapePhotography - No Eagle Lake

A thousand years ago, (actually 9), I was on a cruise with my first new DSLR. One of my earliest images I took, was of an American Bald Eagle, in Alaska. It was 100's of yards away, in a tree, obscenely past usable length for my zoom. It was blurry, and rough, to say the least. Since then, I've fallen in love with Bird Photography, making time for hours at a time out shooting them. Ever since that elusive Bald Eagle, I have been trying to find an other and get a much better shot.

I am proud to say, finally found one, in the perfect spot. I stopped at this small lake, on my way home from dropping off my daughter at college. ... and there he was. Proud. Alone. Regal... perched high in this tree. Looking like he was waiting for me. I set up the tripod, and camera. Made my readings, fixed the settings. And snapped the shutter...
... as he took off out of frame.

I spent another few minutes waiting for him to return, and shot lots of the lake itself. I thought this 2-shot pano was perfect for the #landscapephotography Challenge, by @juliank @photocontests
