Two BNP-Jamaat leaders named Jamal Uddin Gazi (55) and Hafiz Ullah (57) died in a road accident at Subarnachar in Noakhali.

The accident happened on Tuesday (July 2) around 12.30 pm on the Charjabbar to Sonapur road in Sultan Nagar area of ​​the upazila.

The deceased Jamal Uddin was the son of deceased Sultan Ahmad of Katabunia village of Ward No. 1 of Char Aman Ulya Union of Gazi Upazila and was the president of BNP in the same ward. Hafiz Ullah was the son of deceased Maulana Nurul Ullah of Ward No. 2 of Charbata Union of Upazila and Jamaat leader of the same union.

Hossain Ahmed Dulal, UP member of Char Aman Ulya Union Ward No. 1, said that in the morning, BNP leader Gazi along with his relative Jamaat leader Hafiz Ulya went to district town Maijdi on a motorcycle to attend a political case. On their way home from attendance, when they reached the Sultan Nagar area of ​​the Charjabbar to Sonapur road of the upazila, a reckless speeding CNG autorickshaw hit their motorcycle from behind. The motorcyclist Hafiz Ullah fell off the motorcycle and went outside the road. At that time, another truck behind also hit their motorcycle. BNP leader Gazi died on the spot. Later, the locals rescued them and took them to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared Gazi dead. Jamaat leader Hafiz Ullah died at 4 pm while undergoing treatment.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Char Jabbar Police Station Kaushar Alam Bhuiyan said that the police have been sent to the spot after receiving information. Details will be given later.
