Tree

Of all the trees, I like cherries the most. Wild cherry species are rare in our region. Usually cherries are planted in parks and gardens.

My family planted two cherry trees on our plot. They grow peacefully in the sun with their long, thin, knobby trunks and delight me with their beauty.

It is especially tender in spring, when young branches with green foliage are covered with white flowers. Wonderful round buds exude a seductive fragrance. And bees are circling over the yellow beans, collecting sweet nectar. At this time of year, I like to be near my favorite trees. I often take a book with me, sit on a bench in the shade of a cherry tree and enjoy the outdoors.

In summer, the white flowers gradually fade and disperse. For a while, the cherry looks like a sad orphan, but when the green leaves are completely separated from the dried petals, small green berries become visible under them. Gradually, the berries become larger and more colorful. So by the end of July, our trees are becoming elegant again. The branches of red cherries now have a reddish color.

In our garden, they do not grow very large and, because of their characteristic sourness, are suitable only for jam or compote. But I am pleased to realize that we grow these fruits ourselves, and to think about this process.

In autumn, when all the berries are already harvested, the cherry surprises us again. The leaves turn yellow, burgundy, red and gradually begin to fall to the ground.

In winter, the bare branches are covered with fluffy snow. Snow-covered garden trees regain their luster and look great. They remain in this state until spring, when the next warming comes.
