One example of that is a lesson taught today to my Dhoni, who is studying in Britain for ten years, and I felt very good.
The subject is Religious Studies (religion). Although this is a Christian school, the subject of religion is not taught about Jesus Christ. It is the way to learn the good attitudes of the society and look at all religions with love and kindness.
Today's one-hour lesson was whether abortion should be legalized or not. Before the lesson, the screen was put up saying that because this is a sensitive topic, those who don't like it can go. Abortion is legal in England. The first question the teacher asked was to define abortion. Many children said it was killing a baby in the womb during a certain period. But the teacher's answer was Removal of fetus from the womb. The teacher was careful to call the killing as removal, and the baby as Fetus. The teacher said that because there are many people who believe in different religions, this is a sensitive topic according to some religions, so all of them have a common definition. that one was put.
After that, there was a video on the screen showing how to clean the child and how the child's growth happens week by week. In this, there was an open discussion about how the child grows up. A live video was made beautifully until the forty weeks of hearing and smelling. While the video was going on, at weeks two, three, four, twenty, twenty-five, thirty and forty, I was asked where the baby's life would begin. It was called conceive. It is said that the life starts when the heart starts at 14 days. Some children said that the lice starts when the child laughs and smells at twenty-five weeks.
A printout was given showing how the baby's growth in the womb will happen in the weeks. Everyone was asked to write in advance what week they think their life will start.
For example, in the Catholic religion, it is accepted that life begins at the moment of conception.
According to the law in England, a child cannot be aborted after 25 weeks. The fetus can do all the activities after twenty-five weeks. He is a living child. There is legal permission to do an abortion before 25 weeks. The children were shown how to do the abortion. 99% of the children's abortion is legal. It was said to be done, but before the twenty-five weeks, when a child is raped and a child is destroyed, the child's life is ruined. So, abortion has been legalized as an alternative to that.
A discussion with a doctor is what the teacher has done with these children. It is a very important discussion that gives children knowledge about the world. It is too big to write the whole discussion.
I wanted children to discuss these kinds of things openly when they were young. My daughter discussed abortion with me very eagerly. The teacher had taught the children about the dangers of the world and how to escape from them.
This is a religion lesson, but I felt like a science lesson. It will take us a long time to get to this point. In the religion lesson, they did not teach about the place where Jesus was born and the sermon he preached. They gave knowledge about society.
We are not allowed to reform education in our country. It will stagnate. I am very sorry about that.
