감사노트 004ㅣ thank you, my students.

My students are studying even at late night. They write daily reflection note on their duty. I am very proud of them, because I thought they couldn’t write them everyday. In fact, I thought they wouldn’t do it. However, I was wrong.

I strongly believe that my students will become a good nurse one day.

It’s one reason why I’m still awake this late. I feel like I’m their mother, supporting the study session and taking care of them. I also can’t sleep because the field they’re studying is what l’m teaching right now. I wish them to feel that l’m always there for them whenever they need me. Just like a mother who’s always watches over their children, bringing food and milk to them.

A student sent this e-mail at 2:20am.

“You’re watching over us even at this late hour, and l cannot say how much I’m grateful! Your passion for teaching us is beyond imagination. Have a great night prof.”

내 애기들이 밤 늦도록 공부한다. 뿐만 아니라 매일 실습체험에 대한 성찰일지를 쓴다. 난 걔들이 자랑스럽다. 못 할거라 생각했다. 안 할거라 생각했다. 그런데 잘 한다.

우리 아이들이 좋은 간호사가 될 거라 믿는다. 내가 깨어있는 이유이기도 하다. 밤 새워 공부하는 애 옆에서 간식주는 엄마느낌이다.

나 역시 잠을 잘 수 없다.
왜냐면 그 아이들이 지금 하는 공부가 내가 가르치는 과목이기 때문이다.
곁에 같이 있는 느낌을 주고싶다. 편안하게 공부할 수 있도록. 공부하는 아이들에게 과일도 깎아주고 우유도 가져다주는 엄마처럼.

한 학생이 메일을 보냈다.

“늦게까지 학생들을 봐주시는 교수님의 열정이 대단하다고 생각합니다. 편안한 밤 되십쇼!” At 02:20am
