마음공부의 장애

이 세상에 혼자 태어났다가 혼자 간다고 하는 사람들이 많다. 그런 사람들은 참 자기도 믿지 못하고 진리의 가르침도 믿지 못한다. 마음이란 체가 없어서 우주 전체를 탐험할 수도 있고 일체와 둘 아니게 돌아갈 수 있다 해도 믿지를 않는다. 그런 사람들은 자기 마음으로 창살 없는 감옥을 만들어 놓고 그 속에 빠져 지옥고를 면치 못하면서도 그것이 마음으로 옹쳐맨 결과라는 사실을 거부한다.

Obstacles to Mindfulness

There are many people who say that they come into this world alone and go out alone. Such people do not believe in their true selves, nor do they believe in the teachings of truth. They don't believe that the mind has no body, that it can explore the entire universe, or that it can return to itself as one and the same. Such people have built a prison without bars with their minds, and they fall into it and suffer hell, yet they refuse to recognize that it is the result of their minds' defense.
