I was nominated by @nikolina in this post to write my own version of #knowyourself and answer the questions:

• Why do you think it’s important?
• What do you know about yourself by now?
  But first I'm gonna ask another question:

what really makes us who we are?

Is it the things that we achieve,
Or what we think, what we believe,
Is it on what we spend our time,
An act of kindness or a crime?
Is it the color of the skin,
Is it the greed that hides within,
Is it our need for power and fame,
Is it whether we take the blame?
For our actions and our deeds
And escort it wherever it leads?
Is it the steps that we take
And the decisions that the make?
Is it the people that we meet,
On every road and every street,
Is it every word we spoke,
Every story and every joke?
Is it the books that we read,
Is it the vibes that we spread,
Is it the ranks that we earned,
Is it the lessons that we learned,
From life, from people or from failure?
I know they'll all be in our favour!

- Why do you think it’s important?

It's important to know yourself because, in my perspective, we are carrying somethins with us throughout our lives wherever we go. You can call it your personnality, your Identity, your "self" or just "you"! So I think you should really know what you're carrying because ,maybe at some point, it gets too heavy and you can't hold it anymore.

If you know what you're carrying when that happents you'll just choose what to throw and what to keep, but if you really have no clue what that "you" is, you'll probably loose a random part of it while you're adding some new ones and the worst case scenario, in my opinion, is very terrible! You can loose yourself and you can never have it back cause you can't remember how it was.

- What do you know about yourself by now?

I'm not good at introducing myself but here are some random facts about me:

• As far as I know, every arabic name has a meaning and we say that everyone has a share from his name. I think I also had a share from my reverse name. My name means "perceverant" and my name spelled backwards means someone who jokes a lot. Somehow they both represent me.

• I rush into things I don't really know the consequences of but I never regret my choices-- I stick to them and I make the best out of them.

• I can listen to a different opinion, a completely different one and even if deep inside I think it doesn't make any sense, I try to relate and to embrace it and then I start looking for the flaws in it. Maybe you think it's an irrelevent fact but not if I tell you I did this kind of debate with people who admit they are what we call terrorists or nazists.

• I am not perfect and it's OK because no one is. I don't compare myself to others but I sometimes judge myself in a specific area saying things like "above the average" or "one of the top 10" or something like that. I don't know if this couts as comparing myself to others but I do it😏 but hey, I already said I'm not perfect.
