Gerber Prodigy Knife unboxing

So I've been studying about bushcraft at home, and learned from the process that the most basic tool you need is a survival knife.

So I went online to Amazon store and tried to find a knife that is both affordable and good quality. Which led me to the Gerber Prodigy Survival Knife:

The knife in question, was only 49.99 and had an average 5 star rating from 653 reviewers. If anything a review, Sgt. Pitbull, had this to say:

I've used this knife now for over a year and must say its one of the most comfortable toughest knifes I've ever used. I hunt, fish and hike year round with this knife. It has been through a rough time everywhere and nothing seems to dull the blade. I've cut into bone, rope, paracord, nylon, carve wood, made tinder, scaled fish and once killed a wild charging boar with it that had caught me off guard while setting up a critter trap in the wild. It literally saved my life.

That itself convinced me to go ahead and make that purchase. After waiting a few days, it came in my mail and I couldnt wait to open it up.

After holding the knife, I can certainly feel the comfort and the heftiness of the knife. :) It felt like something that you can use to hold onto and depend on in the must rugged conditions.
