"Barking up the Right Tree."

This is my entry for the current #KillerPix Photography Contest organised by @killerwhale
Image #1. This bark image was captured from a mature Pine Tree. I was drawn to the deep, rough textures and the various shades of rich to light brown colours in the peeling segments..........yet another reason to marvel at the wonders of nature.
Image #2. I contrast, this picture highlights the amazing lighter coloured, bark patterns captured from the aptly named, Leopard Tree. (Caesalpinia Ferrea.) As the bark peels of it leaves an attractive dappled appearance and this image was enhanced by the growth of a glossy leafed ivy growing up the trunk.
