Week 5 Begins
Getting more new faces showing up and some regulars, LOVE IT! This week we are pulling all we can from the suggestion box that we put out every Saturday. Simply select the one you like best and record yourself singing along with it. Then, drop your video and/or link to your post with the video of you down there in the comments section. Easy, right? Here's 'the catch'.
RULES
- The 1st tag for your submission post must be #karaokecontest.
- This submission thread must be upvoted and curated (resteemed).
- Your video of yourself singing must be in comments of this post (so you can get the popularity vote), or at least a link to your Steemit post entry.
- You must choose one of our selected songs to sing along to.
JUDGING CATEGORIES
- Popular vote: This will carry 40% of the overall score. Whoever has the most upvotes (not reward amount for the post) in the comments below, will win the popular vote. You may only vote for yourself ONCE, purchased bot votes for yourself will not count.
- Timing: 20% weight - how close you are to the timing of the original lyrics.
- Pitch: 20% weight - how close you are to staying on key to the original lyrics.
- Likeness: 20% weight - how much you actually sound like and embody the singer of the original lyrics.
PRIZES
We will award prizes for 1st, second and third places by the following Tuesday of this post. @michaeldavid has donated 10 STEEM for the first place winner and @enginewitty has given 10 SBD (7 for 2nd place and 3 for 3rd). Winners will be announced Mondays with the posting of each new submission thread.

Ah yes, what songs are we able to choose from this first week? This week, we have taken the suggestion box submissions and added them to the list, so be on the lookout for the suggestion box post every Saturday for people that have a desire for a certain artist, band, genre or era of music.

Good job ladies. I especially love the tone in your voice inparticular (other ladies did very well with you and were great additions). You have this almost Erykah badu sultriness to your voice though, especially in this song.

Yay! Thanks so much!! I am so excited that I won. That's so funny that that is the Alicia Keys song that was chosen this week. I submitted that exact song for Open mic couple of weeks ago. I'm either gonna do it again (new video of course), or a new one...we shall see.
