“Ugly Looking but Yummy Gyoza Dumplings”
Living in Nova Scotia Canada, You have access to most international stuff but sometimes you can't find exactly what you want. I usually use Chinese Wonton shells for Japanese Gyoza Dumplings(potstickers) but I want to make my own shells sometimes. I try to eat gluten-free food as much as I can for my health but when I made this Japanese Gyoza dumpling, I was craving for them.
I used typical flour for these shells. It took a long time to make 20 or more shells. The shapes of the shells look very ugly and thick but actually, the taste was pretty delicious!!
We express this texture as “mochi-mochi” in Japanese. It means sticky or chewy. It's depends on your taste but usually, people cook them very crunchy on one side and steam them with water until they become mochi-mochi! Honestly, I want to eat dumplings in Japan if I can!

カナダのノバスコシア州では大抵のインターナショナルな食材が手に入りますが、時々確実に欲しい材料が手に入らないこともあります。餃子を作るときは中華のワンタンの皮を代用しますが、自分でちゃんとした餃子の皮を作りたくなることもよくあります。健康のためにグルテンフリーをなるべく心がけてはいますが、この時は餃子が食べたくて仕方ありませんでした。
これは普通の小麦粉を使用しました。20枚以上の皮を作るのにものすごい時間がかかります。見た目は分厚くて不格好ですが、味は結構いけます。
日本語ではこの食感を表すのに、モチモチという表現を使いますね。好みによると思いますが、大抵裏面に焦げ目をバッチリつけてカリカリにしてから、水をかけて蓋をしてモチモチになるまで蒸しますよね。こんなに書きましたが正直に言うと、日本で日本の餃子が食べたいです！

もしや同じ日に手作り餃子をドイツで作っていたかもしれません :D 海外で食べたいものがないと作るようになりますよね。年内最大の手作りは年末のうどんになりそうです。
同じ作業をしている人がいるのは嬉しいです！私は料理シーンを投稿することは数少ないのですが、日本で餃子の皮を一から作ることなど無いので、投稿してみました。うどんもですか！！いいですね^_^食べたくなってきました。

自分で作った皮だとくっつきすぎるので、焦げ目が多くなりましたがー。美味しかったのでよしとします^_^
