Nei soggetti predisposti alla schizofrenia gioca un ruolo cruciale, per lo sviluppo dei sintomi, la crescita dell’individuo nella placenta. È quanto emerge da un nuovo studio, secondo il quale a giocare un ruolo chiave sono i traumi e lo stress che il feto subisce durante il suo sviluppo. Se questi due elementi (traumi e stress) sono presenti, allora la probabilità di sviluppare malattie come la schizofrenia (ma anche la dislessia) è maggiore.
Plutone e le sue dune
Le immagini di Plutone inviate dalla sonda New Horizon non smettono di stupire. Questa volta le protagoniste sono delle dune, formate probabilmente da granelli di metano congelato. Plutone ha un atmosfera, seppur molto rarefatta, e possiede dei venti, che non sono sufficienti a formare le dune osservate. Per spiegare la loro formazione è stata avanzata un ipotesi, che prevede che sia la sublimazione e il successivo ricongelamento dei granelli di metano che rende possibile il loro spostamento sulla superficie.
