Hello steemians, as promised in my previous posts, today I will show you the beauties of the Matadeiro beach, with some photos taken by me yesterday afternoon, taking advantage of the warm sunny day. Located in the south east of the island of Floripa, Brazil, between the beaches of Armação and Lagoinha, in a small village inhabited by fishermen very quiet and characteristic.

Ciao steemians, come promesso nei mie post precedenti, oggi vi mostreró le bellezze della spiaggia del Matadeiro, con alcune foto scattate da me ieri pomeriggio, approfittando della tiepida giornata di sole. Localizata al sud est dell'isola di Floripa, Brasile, tra le spiagge di Armação e Lagoinha, in un piccolo centro abitato da pescatori ben tranquillo e caratteristico.

To access the beach, you need to cross the Quinca Antônio river, in the water, ''if you prefer'', or on a small wooden bridge. The river water level is related to the level of the Lagoon of the Peri, a few minutes from there and of course the tides. The water is very transparent and clean, and it is ideal for the local wildlife, even if it is quite annoyed by the numerous tourists.
Per accedere alla spiaggia, bisogna attraversando il fiume Quinca Antônio, in acqua, ''se preferite'', o su di un piccolo ponte in legno. Il livello dell'acque del fiume è correlata al livello della Laguna del Peri, localizzata a pochi minuti da lí e naturalmente dalle maree. L'acqua é ben trasparente e pulita, ed é habitat ideale per la fauna locale, anche se abastanza infastidita dai numerosi turisti.

Due to limited access and due to the absence of asphalted roads, the place is well preserved and the local forest is very lush. The path that leads to the beach is well maintained, and at the highest points of the route, the view is wonderful.
Il luogo a causa dell'accesso limitato e per l'assenza di strade asfaltate, é ben preservato e la foresta locale è ben rigogliosa. Il sentiero che conduce alla spiaggia é ben tenuto, ed nei punti piú alti del percorso, la vista é meravigliosa.

When you get to the beach, you will immediately be enchanted by the fine white sand and the deep blue of the ocean, whose waters, "as the cool breeze suggests", are very cold, but very clean, with high salinity and clear enough, ideal for surfing and divers.
Giunti in spiaggia, subito si rimane incantati dalla sabbia sottile, bianca e dal blu intenso dell'oceano, le cui acque, ''come lascia presagire la fresca brezza'', sono ben fredde, ma molto pulite, con alta salinità e abbastanza chiare, ideali per il surf e per i sub.

Reading some articles on the beach, I was able to know his measurements, ranging from 640m. of extension, to 30-60m. of width of the sandy dock. The most curious thing, is the origin of its name, which as it already lets us foresee from its violent stamp "Matadeiro", before here it was not at all a place of relaxation and tranquility.
Leggendo alcuni articoli sulla spiaggia, sono riuscito a conoscere le sue misure, che vanno dai 640m. di estensione, ai 30-60m. di larghezza della banchina sabbiosa. La cosa piú curiosa, é l'origine del suo nome, che come lascia giá presagire dal suo timbro violento ''Matadeiro'', prima qui non era affatto luogo di relax e di tranquillitá.

In fact, originally in 1785, the place was known as ''Saco do Slaughterhouse'' (bag of the slaughterhouse) because it was on this beach that the whale slaughter took place for the use of oil, meat, grease and fins. Whaling was the main economic activity in this part of the island, and the current name '' Matadeiro '', is the translated name of the term ''slaughterhouse'', which refers to the activity practiced on this beach hundreds of years ago.
Fortunately with the decline of whaling, in the mid-eighteenth century. due to the disappearance of the same, from the coasts of Santa Catarina, the beach was no longer used for these slaughterings. The fishermen have used the beach as access to the coasts, where they can practice other types of fishing, the grouper is the mullet, the latter prey symbol of the community of fishermen and the island of Floripa.
Infatti originariamente nel 1785, il posto era conosciuto come ''Saco do Slaughterhouse'', (borsa del macello) poiché era su questa spiaggia che avveniva il massacro delle balene, per l'uso dell'olio, della carne, grasso e pinne. La caccia alle balene era la principale attività economica in questa parte dell'isola, ed il nome attuale ''Matadeiro'', è il nome tradotto del termine ''mattatoio'', che si riferisce all'attività praticata su questa spiaggia centinaia di anni fá.
Per fortuna con il declino della caccia alle balene, a metà del XVIII sec. a causa della scomparsa delle stesse, dalle coste di Santa Catarina, la spiaggia non fú più utilizzata per queste mattanze. I pescatori hanno utilizzato la spiaggia come accesso alle coste, dove poter praticare altri tipi di pesca, alla cernia è ai cefali, questi ultimi preda simbolo della comunitá dei pescatori e dell'isola di Floripa.

As I climbed the rocks to take pictures, I met a ''lithic workshop'', an ancient circle carved into the rock, used millennia ago by the natives, to build stone tools, very common here along the coasts, but always beautiful to observe.

Mentre mi arrampicavo sulle rocce per scattare le foto, ho incontrato una ''officina litica'', un antico cerchio concavo scavato nella roccia, utilizzato millenni fá dagli indigeni, per costruire utensili in pietra, molto comuni qui lungo le soste, ma sembre belli da osservare.
