Earnings Review NFLX 10/15/2017

Summary: I have bouts of Deja Vu whenever I think about Netflix. For whatever reasons it reminds me of Yahoo in the late 90's. They will report earnings after the market close on 10/16 so you will have a chance to mull over which direction you want to play this if at all. Currently NFLX is not priced for perfection...it's priced for godhood! There are technical reasons to like it, and technical reasons to not like it, but the direction of price will come down to their subscriber growth. They raised their prices but on an operational basis I can also see them spending more on original content than their expenditure models would have predicted, this is true for anyone creating original content. NFLX is the beast to watch and my bet is that their earnings call will bring their investors from Nirvana back to Earth. This is just a guess but I did make a small bet with puts. You short Reed Hastings at your peril, but for a couple of hundred bucks the cost of danger ain't so bad. After all, if I am correct then that couple hundred will turn into thousands in a hurry!
