Introducing myself: Welcome To Family Truck life

Hello everyone,

I'm a truck living mama., living in the south of Spain with my partner, our three beautiful girls, two dogs and three cats.I am lucky enough to be guardian to a plot of land here, that is abundant with fruit and nut trees. Before this we were nomadic, we had a bus which we sold in France and then upgraded to our current home a wooden horsebox. We hope to return to the road in the not too distant future. We are energy sufficient, having our own solar panels and we also have been growing our own veg.

I have many passions in life, the first being my family. My two eldest daughters are home educated as well as attending a creative hub for home educated kids. It is very important to me that my children have the freedom to chose how and where they learn and how wonderful would it be if all children had this choice. I am constantly learning with my children and being taught by them, I feel some of my best education has come from them.

Feeding my children wholesome nutritious food is something I try my best to do, I would like them not to eat so much sugar, which we manage to do at home but it's always difficult to continue that away from home. I do use substitutes for cane sugar and do enjoy making raw cakes, when I can find the time that is. Luckily where we live there is a great selection of fruit all year round and it is great to be able to walk around the land and pick your own. At the moment there are grapes, pomegranates and almonds.

I love to celebrate life, be it by growing food, celebrating the seasons and creating ceremonies in which to do so. This is an important aspect of many of our lives that I feel we don't do enough of, it's something I try and create so that my children and the children in our community see it as a normal part of life. There are so many amazing transitions that we as humans go through during our lives, how wonderful it would be if we all came together and acknowledged and celebrated these through music, dance and play.

As a mother of three girls motherhood is the one I identify with the most at this point of my life. I feel it is so important for women to have the freedom (there's that word again) to chose where and how they wish to give birth. How we birth our children is so important and it should be an empowering experience for all women. From this passion came my decision to become a Doula and support women and partners before, during and after birth.

Being a mum keeps me super busy, so I envisage that some of my posts will be shorter then others, but there are many things that I would like to share with you all on here and also to open up discussions as well. My daughters are always asking the most amazing questions and I do try to answer them as best I can . I am always either giving them my own opinion or one from my own learning. I think it would be great to put some of those questions out there and see what other people think.

Thanks so much for reading, here's to learning and growing together, we all have so much to learn from one another and I look forward to doing that with you all.

I am really excited to follow you @trucklife-family! I am so glad Mark introduced you to this plattform. I enjoy following his family as well. You and I have a lot in common...homeschool, freedom of choices, passion for family etc.

That is so wonderful that you followed your passion and became a Doula. Our Doula got us through our first pregnancy, I would have been lost without her. All four of our children were birthed by midwives, we wouldn’t have it any other way. My dream was to give home births but we couldn’t afford to do that.

We hope to one day have our own land and solar panels and all the works. Our family including extended family are planning to build a small community where we all share responsibilities and grow our own foods and teach our kids about farming. It’s a distant dream but we know it can become a reality.

I look forward to learning more about you all and seeing your next post! Welcome aboard to such a wonderful supportive community :)
