Hello! I am Cae (pronounced say), I am new to Steemit and loving it!

in #introduceyourself7 years ago

Who am I? Good question! Where to start?

Usually, when I meet people for the first time, I tell them I have chickens and live on a homestead on top of a mountain, in the beautiful Okanagan Vally. I seriously love my chickens, hence I always start out with that! It's pretty silly, but what else is there to my life?

(This is my friends walking down the mountain into town some early spring day)

(our rhode island red/ sussex cross chickens we refer to collectively as tengu, can you see the mischevious look in her eye??)

I do other things then hangout chickens of course. Since I only have 14 chickens, they are really not a lot of work. I probably spend more time admiring their fluffy butts and quirky personalities then chores! I also really love to art, in all sorts of forms. From amateur photography to drawing portraits and hentai, and all sorts of other creative expressive stuff as well. I usually write more research/informational papers then fantasy, but I guess knowledge is a sort of art as well. Other then chickens and art, I garden as much as I can! In the warm months I tend to have a plant addiction, meaning I buy way too many plants, especially flowers. It's not a very harmful addiction at all, in fact it is quite productive and beautiful.

The everyday chores on the farm, housework, and schoolwork all are in there too. But those are just routine and drudgery, which has its own charm too. Not worth exploring though, I am sure everyone is familure with the routine of living.

I now have explained what I spend my time doing, but that isn't really who I am. It can be hard to describe onself to others without just explaining your interests and hobbies. What is my personality made up of? Well, I am highly open to experience, somewhat extroverted (in an introverted way?), and pretty agreeable! I am not particularly conscientious nor am I very neurotic. There, I explained myself according to the big five personality traits, for those folk who know about psychology. If you do not, google is your friend, maybe I will post about the big five...... ? I got sidetracked lol...

In my own words, I would describe myself as honest, master procrastinator, and imaginative!

I guess I will just go into my interests now, since that is what life is all about. I am interested in community and friendship, and hence I live in a (somewhat) intentional community/homestead. Its basically me, my dad, my boyfriend, and a couple other friends. I say we are only somewhat intentional because we can only somewhat agree upon what our intentions are >.< Its the challange of living in a small group community in the woods, but that is what I love about it! Its never boring!

I am also interested in anime, like a lot, probably too much. I watch about 10% shows with real actors in them, and 90% anime. I am basically an anime connoisseur. My favuorites include Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, Ninja Scroll, Stiens Gate and Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. I favor the action over the drama for sure, as in life.

(From Moribito, Balsa is by far the most badass female anima character ever, she rivals even Korra in her badassery, can I convince you to watch this???)

My interest in anime obviously leads to my enduring cat girl personality. I just love cats, and I love cute girls with cat ears, so I have combined those loves into who I am in a lot of ways. I am not particularily conceited, but I really adore dressing up and going out as a cute cat girl with my friends! Especially at raves (rapid audio vidual experience). I guess I am a cat girl extremist.

Other then all these interesting things, I guess I should end with my love of knowledge and learning. I am a fan of ancient art, mythology and all sorts of history subjects. I also enjoy the sciences, especially biology, psychology and astronomy. My love for science fades into my love of pseudoscience and esoteric knowledge. I am a believer in advancing knowledge and being open to the unknown. I find it sort of foolish to be bound by scientific dogma. Scientests in their very nature are searching for answers to the unknown and mysterious. If we had everything figured out, there would be no need for science!
I guess this view point along with my natural interest in astrology, oracles, shamanism and storytelling has made me sort of quirky! But life is no fun without being wierd and stuff, so why the heck not?

Is this enough introducing? Do you feel like you know me already? I hope so! Am I mysterious, or can I be read like an open book?

I can't wait to get to know the community on steemit! Over this long and cozy winter the online community will keep me connected and entertained. I am sure I will learn a thing or two and make some new friends,so luck and love for everyone, thanks for being rad!

Sort:

CHICKENS! That's awesome! It's my hope to one day live on a small homestead with some fluffbutts, too. And a garden. And maybe some angora rabbits.

Anyway, I'm new to Steemit, too, and hope you don't mind me following you! I'm also into anime, although not as much as I used to be, and mythology and whatnot. :)

Chickens are awesome. They are fluffy twerps though. In the summer when we have the doors open all the time they really love to try and eat the dog food. Its a dream up here. Id be glad to be internet friends too!

What anime do you like?

They honestly scare me a tiny bit, too, lol. My grandmother grew up on a farm, so I heard a lot of stories!

I haven't kept up with newer anime much at all. So my favorites are kinda oldies, like Yami no Matsuei and Gravitation. I really like Angel Sanctuary, too, but more the manga than the OVA. What about you?

Welcome on steemit. You would have a nice home with the #untalented family

I am extremely interested in this #untalented family you mention! I've been perusing the tag trying to get an idea of what it is. Is there any central post you'd recommend reading to give me a crash course?

Hello friend! I just joined today as well. Heres my post! Good luck to you. https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@taryn0221/hello-steemit-super-excited-to-be-a-part-of-this

I checked your blog out, seems like you rock.

You are lot of interesting things. I am pretty sure you will love it here. You can get a speed up when it comes to how steemit works on my very last post. I am honored that you are forming part of the #untalented family too. There be loads of fun as we give ourselves every chance to try out-of-the-boxness

Thanks, im glad I stumbled upon such a relatable family. I am sure we will all have a blast!

So Canadians really do have all the fun ;) It actually takes a lot of talent to do what you are doing. I'd love to have chickens. I can't watch Japanese anime because it gives me headache. Is that weird? I could watch Avatar the Last Airbender series, but that's American anime. It was the first time I fell in love with animated characters.

maybe a little wierd, but thats okay, who isnt wierd anyways, do you watch it subbed or dubbed?
Have you seen The Legend of Korra? Its the next incarnation of the Avatar and super rad.

I am not sure if it takes talent. Persistence and chopping wood yes. Chop wood and carry water eh? ;)

Welcome onboard. Those are some good looking chickens. ;)

Since I only have 14 chickens, they are really not a lot of work. I probably spend more time admiring their fluffy butts and quirky personalities then chores!

That really cracked me. You're a funny person. That's a good drawing that you got there. And as you asked, you seem like a very open person. Have fun.

well thank you :P ill be sure to post more about chicken shananigens. They are super funny derpy birds :P You have fun too!

I will look forward to reading about them. :)
