Bonjour mes amis,

Here I am, finally here to introducing myself. I am a private person whom has never had a real social media account so forgive me for not oversharing. I just don’t see the value in doing so. I mean I am not trying to hide but I just have serious reservations about putting my private life into the public sphere.

But why?

Why you ask… well I have always been deep thinker (possibly introvert) and I have never really seen any appeal to having others pry into my personal details of my life. Those whom I share a bond with are those whom I choose to share my life with. The good news is I see myself building trust and friendships on this platform. This may allow me to open up; this is big for me.

Weirdo.

I wouldn’t say I am antisocial…. Others might. I am reserved about trusting people due to personal experiences. Nothing I have been through has ever been that serious but having been bullied in my youth has had lasting effects. I struggle with my mental health, but hell who doesn’t. I think the source of it is being the victim of various abuses of power along my life that have left me anxious in certain social situation. In other situations I could be quite outgoing and I don’t think people would ever really think twice about it.

Who am I and what defines me?

Well I am a 31 year old male, Canadian citizen from Ontario whos’ first language is French. Yes you heard correct, French Canadian not from Quebec. Hard to believe; I know. I have grown up in a large family with siblings of both sexes and many cousins. I value family, and my friends are part of that extended family. I have always done things that I enjoyed regardless of other peoples’ opinions on the matter.

What I want to accomplish.

I am an ambitious person who has grandiose plans but unfortunately I am a master procrastinator and the older I get the more I feel guilty about not doing more…. Accomplishing more… being more active in my communities. Steemit is starting to feel like a cozy blanket and I think I can use this community as a source of motivation and inspiration in my life. I’m actually looking forward to finding my voice both through blogging and vlogging.

I’ve got opinions, you’ve got opinions let’s discuss.

I’m not sure where it comes from, but I am a passionate individual and I can’t help but be outspoken when I see injustice and injustice is all around us. I’ve always been pushing back, and getting sideways looks as a result but unfortunately I can’t help but push back; it’s just who I am. I want to engage the everyday people whom I don’t believe are thinking critically and engage them into doing so.

“Pousse mais pousse egale”

I don’t speak French much anymore but I feel as though there are sentiments, both in French and English, which have stuck with me. The above statement was something my father said to me often growing up. I won’t ruin the treasure hunt of discovering what this means to you. I may likely make a post about this in the future.

“Would a rose by any other name not smell as sweet?”

This is another phrase that has stuck with me that I won’t divulge too much about it; but many people are likely to recognize it.

I will put up 10% of the profits of this post to a random upvoter. I will try to feed this to a minnow so it will not be a pure lottery, the winner must engage in discussion regarding my post. I will choose a minnow to distribute this to.

Well there it is, my intro post. I came, I saw, I conquered. This has been a source of anxiety this whole year and now that I have got it just about done it feels as though it has been therapeutic and I feel a slight sense of relief. One down, many more to go. I am looking forward to keeping the creative juices flowing. Hopefully I can continue to be inspired by my fellow Steemates and possibly be a source of inspiration for others in the future.
