Dental plaque and calculus. Plaque is sticky film of colony of bacteria and sugars which constantly develops and built around teeths and gums. which is main cause of all oral health issues mainly including cavities, Gums disease and hardens into calculus if not removed for longer periods of time.

How Plaque affects Your oral Health?
Every other person develops plaque when you eat or drink foods which contain sugar. Bacteria in this plaque uses this food ingredients and saliva to grow. This bacteria releases acid which demineralised our tooth enamel and form cavities. which also causes Gingivitis i.e swelling in gums.

this plaque periodically hardens and form calculus Around teeth. Calculus is main reason for periodontal disease. Which leads to bone loss surrounding teeth and periodontal ligaments destruction and eventually mobility in teeth and Bad breath.

How to prevent Plaque And Calculus?
*Brush thoroughly twice a day with proper brushing techniques.
*Use of power toothbrush is proven better to get rid of it.
*Frequent mouth rinse.
*use of Floss and intraproximal toothbrush.
*use of Fluoridated Toothpaste.
*Use of antibacterial Mouthwash.
*Visit dentist and oral hygienist in every 6 months.
*person with systemic disease like diabetic and hypertension should visit dental professional periodically.
*Diet Control is always better, Avoid sugar containing beverages.

*Bleeding in gums while brushing.

*Swollen gums with profuse bleeding.
