Introducing Myself

Hi Everybody,

Call me Doctorwhen or just Doc if you prefer. A little bit about myself:

I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Santa Cruz where I specialized in the area of Nonlinear Dynamical Systems Theory, popularly known as Chaos Theory. I've lived and worked and studied and played in Santa Cruz for the last 38 years. I'm the father of 3, one boy & two girls, and the grandfather of 4 beautiful boys.

I've worked as just about everything from dishwasher to migrant fruit picker to teacher to farm hand, but most of my career has been as a software developer. At the Santa Cruz Operation here in SC I was the Open Source Solutions Architect and designed many integrated stacks of open source projects into SCO's various Unix offerings. Later I worked at VMware on a variety of projects, mostly automating management and control of virtualized environments.

I founded the Time Party, a political party dedicated to adding an 8th day to every week and promising that all Time added by the Time Party would be Party Time. Every week would have a 3 day weekend (the existing 3 day weekends would become 4 day weekends)! Guess which Beatles song we play at our campaign rallies :)

Most recently I've formed a cryptocurrency research and development project, the Moonlight Mining & Trading Company.

I'm hopeful that Steemit will flourish, replacing and augmenting the existing social networks with one that rewards users for their data and content. I plan on doing what I can to promote Steem based ventures and helping in any way I can.
