Hi Steemit! Does My #introduceyourself Post Has a Credibility Problem?

in #introduceyourself8 years ago (edited)

This is my 9'th day on Steemit and finally decided to #introducemyself. But how can I do that since I feel that my privacy is a good thing that crypto offered me in the last years and I don't want to write on any blockchain who I am and how much value I transfer?

I also think that If Steemit really want's us to be verified, then one picture or video is not enough maybe....

With only 5$ anyone can say to you that they are a real person. But does this matter so much?

Maybe, we will better decide if we want to vote for the person or for the content... I think we can vote without any problems for both! But just be careful when you vote for a person. It might not be a real person and it is just stealing your vote and the money from the community!

I like Steemit and I like the community. But please, bear with us the ones that don't want to be on the front page with our picture but more with our ideas! Thanks!

EDIT!

I see from the comments that many don't understand the message here! Either of the videos is not me! You can find the girls on specialised websites and create a video like that with them saying anything what you want them to say! It is so easy to create fake videos like that! We need to be aware of that and maybe change something!

It really isn't that serious.

If you're claiming to be cryptojoy.com then all you need to do is verify that your Steemit account represents that website. You can put a statement on the website's blog (if you have one) or send a tweet its twitter. It's a way of the community knowing you are who you purport to be.

You needn't reveal anything personal here. You can just post a link to the tweet.

Equally if you're a person that what's to be anonymous, as long as you're posting original content that isn't elsewhere on the web, you needn't verify yourself. Your blog will speak for itself in terms of its authenticity. #introduceyourself is optional, a nice touch to make things a bit more personal and social on the site.

PS - I should know, I invented the tag!!

Thank you! Never thought at that. I will soon create a register post for my website! Bit I want to make that a great event with big discounts for steemit apparel! You helped a lot! Thank you!

that's awesome that you invented the #introduceyourself tag! I'm attempting to kickstart the #snapstorm tag to get people posting videos of themselves in their intos. Started it with my own, here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@ntomaino/i-m-nick-tomaino-a-vc-at-runa-capital-excited-to-introduce-myself-today-on-steemit-via-a-snapstorm

You confusing the hell out of me....are either of you really Cryptojoy.com?

No! I've paid 5$ on fiverr for the girls to record the videos! You did not get my message here? That's the problem! Anyone can do that!

I have thought about this several times. I can pay someone $5 - an attractive girl every day to hold a sign. Boom, instacash rolling in. Fiverr riches...

That is my problem! People should vote for content not for faces, or both, but to be more careful when voting a good looking girl holding a sign!

Welcome aboard @cryptojoy.com great post ++!

You are aware that verification is a ludicrous procedure period. I could totally be a bot, a 12 year old girl or a 99 year old transvestite and no one would be the wiser.

I think you're correct. This needs to be about the content, not the creator.

p.s. Can you link some of those websites where you can hire girls to say anything? It's family prank day soon and I need to pay someone back for last year. Thanks!

You can search on fiverr.com. A lot of girls to hire there! Enjoy!

You make good points...and I'm completely confused on if you actually verified. Which is why you get my upvote.

I am not and I want people to vote just for the content and not for exposing my privacy in public!

I debated the same issue and ultimately verified in public...and it got me no reward. I'm actually cheering for you that your method works better. Verifying has it's benefits...but definitely has it's downsides too.

This. Exactly what I thought. Pretty risk for talking about our self and life while hacker can see through our wallet. As a user I don't feel much secure enough until they have more security system. Man I can't even change my name here.

You can not change your name because we are in crypto here. Your username is on blockchain and can not be changed!

I think video is the solution-- if you reference Steemit + who you are in the video + external links to yourself that are verified outside Steemit, that works pretty well. See what I did here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@ntomaino/i-m-nick-tomaino-a-vc-at-runa-capital-excited-to-introduce-myself-today-on-steemit-via-a-snapstorm
