Introduction post: The future is ours, let's build it together

in #internet7 years ago (edited)

We are living in amazing times, the level of access to technology and know how managed to escape the hands of the few and found it's way to the many. And because information and tech are now easily available, the level of innovation is unprecedented.

Information is king!

There are many reasons why we were able to reach this level, but one invention outweighs them all, the internet. We now have a global, open, borderless, permissionless communication system, that over time allowed us to manifest most of human nature in a digital world. We have access to social bonding, music, movies, finance, sex, and many other, but information is still king.

This is a picture of the internet, which basically is a network of networks. The internet is just a standardized way of transferring information from one point to the other. The beautiful thing about it is that it does not care what information is shared and where it's going, And because of this, information is able to travel all around the world, to whoever needs it.

Hardware is also king. Or at least a prince.

The best example for this is that the spaceship that went to the moon for the first time, had less computational power the smartphone we now use. But his also holds true to most other types of physical technology. We now have schools or community laboratories that are able to carry out research at the level of governments and corporations did 15 to 20 years ago.

Decentralised solution making.

Because of the convergence of the two above mentioned reasons, people are now able to understand almost anything they want from the comfort of their own home, and they also can get access to technology to research and implement ideas.

This opened the door to a new way of generating solutions. In the past and now, problems were addressed at a centralized level. We have a government that makes a list of the most pressing problems and try to find solutions using their "specialists". It's clear this is not the best possible scenario (I'm trying to be polite here) because appointing someone to come up with the solutions, does not mean it is a good solution.

But, luckily we now have a way of finding solutions our selves. Local, regional, state, continental and world problems can now be addressed by anyone that takes the time to understand them and also try to come up with solutions.

This was my first post.

This account will follow this line of thinking and will present reasons why the current system is failing and possible solutions we can implement.

Beautiful representation of the internet

Yes, it's fascinating. An interesting thing is that the human brian has the same decentralised architecture and serves the same role of transfering information. It's clear that models found in nature are functional and a source of inspiration :)

I love that that representation of the Internet kind of looks like a brain ;)

I followed you, excited to see what you continue to post.

I get this feeling that you and I would be able to have some beautiful discussions looking at the evolution of technology and the evolution of humanity and how they are interweaving.

Lots of Love,
Age Sol

I really am glad to hear this, I'm here for the conversations for sure :) I followed you back.

Would you like to bring anything to this idea:
