Some tips on building an Instagram following

It can be a heartbreak when you realize just posting good pictures isn't enough to build a following on Instagram. To build your page from 0 followers or from 1,000 you need to combine multiple strategies. The first is to post as often as you can, whether that is once a day or 5 times a day the more you post the more likely you will appear on the explore feed for other people which in turn gets you new followers that you can now use to get even more followers. Another important strategy is to go to the hashtags that have something to do with the type of posts you create, for me it is motorcycles and travel. I go to the top posts and most recent and like all the pictures and leave a comment for people who have great content, usually this will cause some of the people to check out your page and if they like it they might follow, this also opens opportunities to do shoutouts for shoutouts which is a great way to expand you reach. Pay close attention to which posts seem to get more interaction than others and how the time you post affects the interaction. Promoting your post to get more reach is a good plan for posts that you know will bring good feedback and may new followers. I recently had an awesome picture at the beach with a beautiful girl and from the past feedback I knew that those posts tend to do better so I promoted it and the engagement was way higher than previous promoted posts because usually the promoted posts and normal posts will follow the same trends with engagement. At the end of the day you need to post quality content not just stuff to get more followers you need to make something people actually like and want to see everyday, let people see the real you post pictures of family and friends and follow the tips above and you should be on your way to growing slowly to reach your goal. check out my Instagram to see what i mean @joesorris!
