Today both the lefty talk radio, NPR, and the righty talk radio are all abuzz about this anonymous op-ed that the CIA disinformation outlet the NYT published yesterday.

Headline: Opinion: I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration

I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

They began with a disclaimer:

The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers. We invite you to submit a question about the essay or our vetting process here.

Oh I see, we are just supposed to trust the NYT, the guy who cleans the toilets works in the White House right? Wouldn't want him to lose his job. I guess his job is more important to him than this op ed but we are still supposed to take it at face value.

President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.
It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.

I don't see any evidence presented for any of those premises.

The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

Well I guess the cat's out of the bag now! Another premise we are supposed to just accept, that Trump is so stupid and doesn't know that there are stupid assholes in his administration undermining him. Trump is not the kind of guy who would keep his friends close and his enemies closer right?

I would know. I am one of them.

So you say, anonymously, Senior Housekeeper.

To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

Ok then, that makes sense, how could this op ed not help the administration succeed? Thanks for admitting that the president has already made America greater, again.

But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.

If that was really true then they would be willing to sacrifice their job working for Donald Trump by putting their name on this hit piece.

That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.

Whom did they vow this to? Note some more premises that we are just supposed to accept, that Trump is "misguided" and "impulsive", what "democratic institutions" are they trying to preserve? Another premise we are supposed to accept, that there are democratic institutions and that Trump is a threat to them. The only democratic institution Trump is a threat to are the public labor unions that are an arm of the Democrat party. How have they "thwarted" the president?

The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making.

Says a coward afraid to speak in public! "anyone who works with him knows" well then it must be true. Sounds like this idiot never read Trump's book.

Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.

Look, no examples. Just more premises we are supposed to blindly accept. What has the president attacked outright?

In addition to his mass-marketing of the notion that the press is the “enemy of the people,” President Trump’s impulses are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic.

Let me get this right, it's "amoral" for the president to call out fake news but just fine for the fake news to lie and distort everything the president does and says? More premises without evidence, anti-trade and anti-democratic? Trump proposed doing away with all tariffs and he was scoffed at. It sounds like the author is parroting the false notion that criticizing specific biased media outlets is "anti democratic" ,so bizarre.

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.
But these successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.

I see, as if any of that shit would have happened without Trump! Looks like Trump's ineffective leadership has been quite effective, that's why you clean toilets and he is the president of the United States.

From the White House to executive branch departments and agencies, senior officials will privately admit their daily disbelief at the commander in chief’s comments and actions. Most are working to insulate their operations from his whims.

Oh, who? This is a form of "people are saying"

Meetings with him veer off topic and off the rails, he engages in repetitive rants, and his impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.

Such as? Oh yeah we are supposed to take this anonymous coward's claims as fact without any evidence.

“There is literally no telling whether he might change his mind from one minute to the next,” a top official complained to me recently, exasperated by an Oval Office meeting at which the president flip-flopped on a major policy decision he’d made only a week earlier.

LOL There is something concrete, the problem with Donald Trump is he changes his mind about things!! How dare he be open minded! That's a threat to our nation!

The erratic behavior would be more concerning if it weren’t for unsung heroes in and around the White House. Some of his aides have been cast as villains by the media. But in private, they have gone to great lengths to keep bad decisions contained to the West Wing, though they are clearly not always successful.

It is pretty funny, basically this coward is trying to eviscerate Trump for actually using his cabinet and advisors as intended. Why does he think the president has a cabinet and advisors?

It may be cold comfort in this chaotic era, but Americans should know that there are adults in the room. We fully recognize what is happening. And we are trying to do what’s right even when Donald Trump won’t.

Whoa! Full stop! Isn't that almost a coup? Did anyone elect these people?

The result is a two-track presidency.
Take foreign policy: In public and in private, President Trump shows a preference for autocrats and dictators, such as President Vladimir Putin of Russia and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, and displays little genuine appreciation for the ties that bind us to allied, like-minded nations.

Really, he prefers autocrats and dictators? Allied, like minded nations? Oh I see, because he wants NATO members to pay their fair share that is not showing genuine appreciation for them? How dare Trump try to make peace and bridge the gap with our so called "enemies", how dare Donald Trump be the first president brave enough to meet with a Korean leader!? How can he make peace with those guys, doesn't he know they are our enemies?

Astute observers have noted, though, that the rest of the administration is operating on another track, one where countries like Russia are called out for meddling and punished accordingly, and where allies around the world are engaged as peers rather than ridiculed as rivals.

Another fake news premise that we are supposed blindly accept, the Russian "meddling" narrative. And Hillary would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling Russians! So if we "engage" our "allies" as "peers" then we should just let them get the best of us in trade deals and not renegotiate those deals? Let them charge tariffs on our products but none of theirs? Note how it is fine for them to ridicule him and for anyone to ridicule Trump but he is expected not to respond in kind.

On Russia, for instance, the president was reluctant to expel so many of Mr. Putin’s spies as punishment for the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain. He complained for weeks about senior staff members letting him get boxed into further confrontation with Russia, and he expressed frustration that the United States continued to impose sanctions on the country for its malign behavior. But his national security team knew better — such actions had to be taken, to hold Moscow accountable.

Look at that, another false narrative we are supposed to accept, that the Russians used a chemical that only Russians can get to kill another Russian, because there chemicals that only Russians can get and those would obviously be their first choice for a secret murder, right? "its malign behavior", good thing the deep state "knew better", did they actually act against the president's wishes?

This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state. It’s the work of the steady state.

Oh, my bad, the deep state wants to be called the "steady state" now! I love you Big Brother.

Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.
The bigger concern is not what Mr. Trump has done to the presidency but rather what we as a nation have allowed him to do to us. We have sunk low with him and allowed our discourse to be stripped of civility.

Section 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President. Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress. Section 3. Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President. Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President. Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.[3]

What were they planning to do, kill him?

Senator John McCain put it best in his farewell letter. All Americans should heed his words and break free of the tribalism trap, with the high aim of uniting through our shared values and love of this great nation.

John McCain, the most butthurt snowflake of all? Gosh, it seems like all the guys who failed to become president hate Trump, but not because he is a winner and they are losers right?

John McCain will say whatever he is told to say.

We may no longer have Senator McCain. But we will always have his example — a lodestar for restoring honor to public life and our national dialogue. Mr. Trump may fear such honorable men, but we should revere them.

Um, the guy who picked Sarah Palin as his running mate was "a lodestar for restoring honor to public life and our national dialogue."? That's a load of something! Trump feared him? How's that?

There is a quiet resistance within the administration of people choosing to put country first. But the real difference will be made by everyday citizens rising above politics, reaching across the aisle and resolving to shed the labels in favor of a single one: Americans.

Wow, that's inspirational, completely meaningless but inspirational.
