Fox News For Bernie!

in #informationwar4 years ago (edited)

At the time of writing this, slightly over 60 percent of the votes are counted from yesterday's Nevada primary election, and I guess you've already heard that Bernie Sanders didn't just win; he crushed all opponents with having 46% of the votes, Biden second with 19% and Buttigieg third with 15%.

All others got less than 10% and billionaire Bloomberg isn't even officially running yet; his race starts on Super Tuesday when 35% of the available delegates are at stake in one election over 15 states, among which are the nation's biggest states Texas and California. Bernie's win in Nevada last night was so overwhelming that most major news networks called it with just 4% of the votes in. In the same spirit those networks are now projecting that Sanders will win the whole thing; the race is effectively over already and Sanders is breaking record after record. Just to name one remarkable feat, Sanders is the first candidate in the history of America to win the popular vote in the first three states, Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada. And Bernie leads in California and Texas according to the latest polls released before the Nevada caucuses.

Things are looking good indeed if you're a Bernie supporter. But if you've been paying attention, now's not the time to stop campaigning as there's still one race to win; Bernie against the 50% majority. He has to get more than 50% of all delegates in the nation to automatically become the winner. If he only manages to get a plurality, the winner will be decided behind closed doors in a brokered convention; that convention is to be held through July 13 to 16 2020. Bernie's win in Nevada has the mainstream media in a panic; expect the lies and smears against Sanders come out at an accelerated rate now as they desperately try to stop his campaign from surging. I'm not going to complain though, not today; if the current trend continues, there's a realistic chance of Sanders actually getting more than 50% of the delegates come convention day. It's sobering and infuriating though to see all the other candidates and pundits who called Sanders a "stubborn old goat" in 2016 when he stayed in the primary race until the very end. They all accused him of not dropping out and rallying behind their preferred candidate Hillary Clinton; if they were even close to true to their words, Warren, Klobuchar, Buttigieg and Biden should drop out now and endorse Sanders. Strange that this point is never raised on the mainstream news networks.

Instead they go on and on about Sanders' chances against Trump in the general elections, completely ignoring the fact that in all head-to-head polls Bernie scores best against Trump out of all Democratic candidates. And that's the good news I have today, as strange as it may sound. If you pay attention, MSNBC hates Bernie most, and MSNBC is supposed to be the left wing, the progressive wing among the corporate media. One of MSNBC's most prominent anchors, Chris Matthews, compared Bernie's rise in the elections to the Nazi's conquering France. I remind you all that Sanders is a Jew who immigrated from Poland and who's family was victim to the Nazi's. This is beyond ugly of course, but there is a silver lining, and you'll see it when you watch this short segment from the right wing Fox News Network; we're seeing the old left-right divide melt before our eyes as people start to realize in growing numbers that the real conflict is NOT between left and right, but between the very rich and the rest of us. More and more people start to realize that for the rest of us to have any chance against the plutocrats, we have to form a closely UNITED front. That's Bernie's message in a nutshell: it's not me, it's us. Trump serves the oligarchy by dividing the rest of us, while Sanders is winning by uniting the rest of us. This is why this election cycle is so historically important; we're at the point that the choice is between "divide and rule" or "unite and conquer." I'll choose the latter, thank you very much!
