Information Finding Championship- Season One : Round 9 ( A wild swolesome appears)

I stumbled on this by accident. After speaking to @kryptocek over my own games I decided to check out his profile. Am I glad I did!

This IFC is right up my alley.

The topic is cryptocurrency. Oh baby. Do I have something that cryptocurrencies have turned on its head.

GAMES.

One word but oh so powerful.

Games and videogames in general have been demonzied since their inception. Players have been blasted as being lazy, irresponsible and wasting their money on something that never pays them back. For pouring love into something that seemed to financially never give love back. Until now.

BILLIONS of dollars have been spent on videogames each year. You could buy a NFL franchise each year with that green!

Did you know that

  • More people watch the televised finals to MOBA games (LOL, DOTA, H.O.T.S) than the Super Bowl? The winning teams walk away with millions of dollars.

  • The top streamers on Twitch can make their passion a full time job that lets earn like an actual job.

  • Cryptocurrencies have already made people rich and moved so many gamers out of mom's basement!

What if I told you you don't have to be the best ganker in the arena or have to crash Twitch from having so many viewers like Dr Disrepect. There is a way to make money playing video games and just watching your favorite streamers on Twitch.

But @swolesome how can that be posisble? Mom always told me video games were a waste of my allowance.

They are not anymore.

Enter Refereum. A cryptocurrency with an actual utility.

You can earn these tokens from streaming your games and watching other streamers. You can buy video games TODAY off their website eith those earned tokens.

Earn.refereum.com

Get into it now before you regret later. I know the team intimately and have been a very active mod in their Telegram group of over 100,000 users!

@laurenglasses is my favourite she deserves her own post soon by me to introduce her and @refereum to steemit.

One of the most important part of any project is the leadership.

Dylan Jones is the CEO and a champion of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain. He even was in Wyoming to support the bill to make cryptocurrencies tax free. He did speeches and helped answered dozens of questions by state senators.

Ok that's ONE example of crypto and videogames..

Oh I have more curious reader. @swolesome always delivers.
Just call me Papa Johns (or Dominoes).

Every played hot potato as a kid?

Well that game grew an entire new smart contract infused genre.

Millions of dollars in Ethreum have already been traded in the big boy games of

  • world.youcollect.co (which is releasing an earnable token this weekend to ALL of their sites)
  • cryptocit.ies.io
  • cryptocities.net
How does it work? You buy an assest. Like say you buy the country of Pakistan.

If someone wants it they have to pay you more than you spent to take it from you.

Some assests are selling for 30+ ETH or nearly 30,000 dollars. Welcome to the craziness of crypto gaming!

Some people I know have turned 0.4 ETH into 120 ETH in one month!

This is stressing me out I just wish I could release my anger in a blockchain confirmable and profitable way

Indeed!

Forgot cryptokitties.

Leave your pussies by the door and play on cryptofighters.io

One of the only crypto games with an actual combat system. If your fighters win you get to recruit a FREE fighter based off the special genes of your leader and the enemy player's leader.

With clans coming and me trying to push them for a global boss. This game is going to be massive! I have been active and even had an interview with their CEO Elie.

Check out out community's discord below. New users have nearly tripled! I am VERY proud to be a mod there.

But @swolesome why do you care about this so much?
Making this feel like an interrogation now reader but ok!

I grew up playing video games. It let me build worlds, feel like a hero and even win at something. When all i wanted to do to escape a miserable day at middle school I could play halo. That was the best therapy a 12 year old boy could have. And I wanted to build my own games one day.

I had my heart set on actually getting a degree in video game design from FullSail. However my family could not even try to afford the classes. I want kids, teens and adults to be able to afford the dream I never had the ability to chase.

Cryptocurrencies are a revolution we have never seen. The train is leaving the station. If we do not jump on this now we may never get a chance for the everyday gamer to earn and profit from gaming. To let them live a life where the next time an old lady gripes at the grocery store about video games. You can say with a smile.

"Video games paid for this lobster. And my house. How about them apples Gladys?"

Do it for the dreamers. For the players yet to come.

Just Play guys!

Thanks for sharing this. It sounds really interesting.

Not to late to join us, lots of time left to play.

Wow.. Great entry!! Seriously.. This hit me on so many levels, as someone who grew up as a gamer as well. And this IFC idea happened very spontaneously through a collection of my old experiences in life, including a photography contest I had on Facebook which was very similar and then I sort of just applied that to some of the old RPG's I used to play and looked at some of the other contests on steemit and also had a previous idea about the "Information Finding" that was different and then I sort of somehow just merged these all together.

By the way, I'm not sure if you're familiar with a game called Suikoden, but I sort of based this contest idea on that game which was my absolute favorite game growing up and was like.. The only game that really sort of made me depressed when I beat it cause I wanted to play it forever.

So.. If you're familiar with Suikoden, maybe the artwork of the castle will make a lot more sense. :) That was a game where you sort of have a castle and share it with a bunch of heroes/friends who are freedom fighters going up against the uber powerful corrupt empire.

I was just thinking about it earlier before I read your entry.. And I was like.. Somehow I managed to take that idea of my favorite game and turn it into a game in real life... And now it's like that game didn't end when I was younger, it's now continuing in real life... It really is such a satisfying and rewarding project to me on so many levels.. I think even if money wasn't involved, the satisfaction I get from this is so overwhelming.. I would probably do it anyways at this point, HOWEVER... This is one reason why I loved your article so much!!! You further pointed out to me how blockchain is going to revolutionize gaming and I never knew of like any of that stuff you mentioned except for cryptokitties. Those sounds like some awesome ideas!!! I'm going to have to look into them individually further, though thanks so much for expanding my awareness about all of this.. I think this IFC idea might be even bigger than I thought it was going to be based on what you just said..

The fact people can now make money playing video games in so many different ways and even become self sustainable is amazing, and I was unaware that those games brought bigger audiences than the Superbowl! Wow.. Holy crap.

I think games/video games are one of the biggest things next to porn and when I was younger I also wanted to create my own game, which is another reason this kind of blows my mind, cause.. I'm like.. Sort of.. Doing something I wanted to as a kid.. And now it's happening in my adult life, similar to how I used to game a lot and haven't gamed much in years.. And now through this game, I'm sort of reliving my youth a lot and remembering a lot of good and fun times, and I think this has been really helpful for me.. Cause I've got a bit too into the serious side of life and being able to have this sort of "fantasy" outlet again, I think is actually therapeutic and medicinal for me.

Once again this game hits me on so many freaking levels.. I'm reminded of a ted talks about a lady programmer who had a serious umm. Injury I believe it was, and her life became incredibly difficult, but then she had an idea to turn her challenges into a game.. Like the bad times were a challenge and the good times were a reward, and she managed to heal up really well when she was in a really bad place!

So.. I really think games are the answer to a lot of things and aren't all "bad". In fact, that same woman I just mentioned did another tedtalks about how she thinks gamers are going to save the world. Because we like to go on quests and solve problems and sort of fight the "ultimate evils" in the world. And.. more and more I'm thinking she is right and that's how I'm looking at this game longterm, as a way to help the world through the wrapping of a fun game. So when I send people on quests, some of the time they are bringing back really useful information that might help others. Once again.. This thing is like a freaking onion! So many layers, and I hope to see it someday do some of these things I think it might be capable of.

I already typed so much so I'm going to end this soon. In summary. I'm.. Extremely glad to have you be a part of the contest! You seem like a perfect competitor for this and I think you might even be the one to give kryptocek and bashadow a run for their money! Especially after that awesome first entry!

Additionally.. I am voting for you for this round, there were some other good entries! But by far this one resonated with me the most and I'm even more excited by all this than I used to be! :D
Thanks for the awesome entry! And good luck in the contest. :)

All I can say is thank you for the opportunity! If you like games try out mine right here on steemit. But hurry signup ends soon!

Absolutely. And.. Word! I'll check it out. :)

Well well well @swolesome, you did not disappoint! Thank you for this awesome information! I didn't know you could do all of those things, I love gaming, and I believe, as @apolymask said in his comment below, you have my vote! I'm glad you happened upon @kryptocek's journey!!! Hope to see you in future rounds!!

I did the post in about a hour or two. I could have added so much more.

Thanks for the information sir.

Welcome to the cruise, glad to have more aboard. We are sailing into unknown waters, and it it good to have more hands on deck.

Thank you for the warm wecome!

Awesome entry man. I grew up playing sports and was actually quite athletic and to be 100% honest. I think Halo & Call of Duty sorta ruined my chances of going anywhere because I spent hours every day after school playing.

Not sure if you ever heard of Gamebattles or not!? But yeah I guess I ended up where I am now and I wouldn’t change it haha! I’m glad you joined up though welcome man!

Just looked it up. I would love to do that with Refereum.

Will check out Refereum here! Add me on discord man kryptocek#4200

sent you a dm

Just looked it up. I would love to do that with Refereum.

Growing up, I was beaten and punished for playing games and now exciting times ahead, I certainly would love to get paid for playing games that I love. Blockchain is the future no doubt.

This is the best information of this round, you have my vote.

Thank you for your vote!

It pains me to hear that happened to you. Mine was only guilt and self loathing for "wasting my time."

Awesome! Thanks for the information @swolesome. I'm a casual gamer, but have sunk far too many hours into Skyrim and Fallout. I'm going to look into those cryptogames you linked to. You have my vote for Round 9!

Awesome!
Etherdungeon.io is one to look at if you like the idea of a dungeon crawler that pays out in crypto.
