The Temple Made With GOLD

The ancient world has gifted us a number of marvelous structures which have kept many pioneers of today wondering how they were made to stand upright with such amazing features at a time when the technology was not much progress.

Today I'm gonna share one such epic historic marvel which is attracting around 100k people all around the globe to witness its beauty shining in pure gold! Yep, you heard it right GOLD ;)

Well it is also known as

Golden Temple

It is located in the Indian state namely Punjab and in the city of Amritsar. The original name of this temple is Darbar Sahib but in English, it is called GOLDEN TEMPLE mainly because it is plated with gold.

The Darbar Sahib is surrounded by a man-made pool which was completed in 1577 by Guru Ram Das. In the year of 1604 a copy of Guru Granth Sahib ( Principle of scriptures of Sikhism ) which led to Darbar Sahib being a constant target of persecution and it was repeatedly rebuilt by the Sikhs. The entire complex was demolished a number of times by the Muslim armies from Afghanistan and the pool was filled with garbage. The structure that stands today is because of the construction work started under the leadership of Sultan-e-Quam Sardar Jassa Singh 1718-1783 and other leading Sikh Misl Sardars and Jagirdars under Kaar Seva, large Sikh congregations assembled at Amritsar to help rebuild Darbar Sahib and finally in 1830 the sanctum was overlaid with gold weighing a staggering 750 kilograms which have got it the name we all know it by in the present.
