The Fear Of Loss Of Power
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
— John Steinbeck
15 of 33 districts in India's Assam have entirely been captured by the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh (presumably Muslims), according to Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain.
Gohain was trying to voice his support for the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, which will import Hindu immigrants from Bangladesh while barring the Muslim immigrants from the legalization process. He implied that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is the only viable way to counter the expansion of Muslim dominated districts in Assam. He's at odds with those who protested against the Bill.
Provocative Slogan?
In another news in Assam, a Muslim man identified as Nasir Uddin has been arrested on May 19, 2018, by the Hailakandi police for allegedly shouting “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long Live Pakistan).
The traditional hostility between the two major religious groups in India has become more and more apparent in time. While the indigenous peoples who have nothing to do with the Hindu-Muslim conflict have been trampled upon by both the two major religious groups. This is tragic.
