This is used to raise capital for new crypto currencies (crowd funding) investors are usually motivated to buy this token in hopes it becomes successful after it launches which could translate to a higher cryptocoin value than what they purchased.
PRE- ICO
In pre ICO their token is gotten cheap with a 20-30% bonus
ICO
In ICO this tokens are sold a little bit higher without bonus, those who participated in pre-ICO could sell a portion of their coin for a higher amount for profit
COIN LISTING
Once a coin is listed in an EXCHANGER its value could increase up to 1000times
