How to Put a Straps on a Crochet Bikini Without Sewing - Alodia's Crochet Quick Photo Tutorial

in #howto6 years ago (edited)

Hello #steemians!! Another day, another #needleworkmonday to all of us! This day Alodia's Crochet are going to share a little knowledge or very quick tutorial on how to put on the straps for our crochet bikini tops, without using our tapestry needle. Meaning we are not going to sew it on our tops. This is a simple technique to make our bikini tops nice to look at.
By the way these are my work in progress, a crochet bikini tops. I already shared to all of you how I make this bikini tops and if you want to make here is the link of my photo tutorial.

How to make a Crochet Bikini Tops

In that tutorial, I haven't taught how I attach the straps on my bikini tops. So this time I am gonna show it.

So let us start for our very very quick tutorial. If you already finished your bikini tops, this is the next thing to do:

I prepared a yarn for enough measurements for my tops. And then, I fold the yarn in to two pieces, so you will notice that both ends of the yarn should combine.

Please do not mind the counts of my yarn, It has really 8 strands, because the yarn here in Philippines is different from other yarns.
Remember that 4 strands here in Philippines is equivalent for 4 ply, and 8 strands is 8 ply.

The next thing to do is, the middle part of the yarn I folded is what we are going to use to attach on our top, so meaning the both ends of the yarn should also be our ending if we reach the number of chains we want.

And then, put your hook on the top of our bikini , I yarn over and then I started making 1 single crochet 3 together on the bikini. See the photo to make it more clear hehe.

After you already did the single crochet 3 together, you can now start chaining, it depends upon you on how many chains you are going to make. But for me, I used 4.5mm hook with number of 65 chains.

See how nice to look your bikini tops without sewing it :) You know this technique was taught by my boss, I admit before when I attach my straps, I used to sew it and I felt that it was not nice because you can notice stitches on the bikini tops, unlike this technique, less effort and can be done for just a minute.

This is the quick video of my bikini tops, please give some little patience because the audio is very noisy ;)

And this one is the finished product of what I am making today. ;)

See this is so easy and I hope I could give a little idea on how to put on the straps to make it more nice ;)
