Previous Stories--- 1,2
1. Hitchiking Lady
A man was driving with his wife late one night when they saw a young woman standing on a corner. The couple stop to offer her a ride home. The girl accepted the offe and gave her complete address to the couple.
Inside the car, the couple started talking to each other and almost completely forgot about the girl. When the wife remembered they had a passenger with them, she started to ask about why she'd been out so late at night. When she received no reply, she turned around and discovered that the young girl had vanished.
Remembering the complete address of the woman's destination, the couple decided to go there and check if the girl had gotten home safely. When they arrived at the address, they were greeted by an old lady who seemed to know why they were there. She was the sister of the young lady whom the couple had picked up.
She told them that her sister had died several years ago. She had been run over by a car on the exact road where the couple had picked her up. Every year, on her death anniversary, she would appear to motorists. That was why her sister was used to having stangers knock on her door and inquire about her sister.
2. Beautiful Tragedy
Mark was driving home from work late at night when he saw a beautiful young lady who seemed to be waiting for a ride. He stopped to ask if he could give her a ride home. The girl said yes and immediately got in the passenger side. It was a cold night and it was cool inside the car even with the air conditioning off so Mark offered the lady his jacket.
They talked for a while. Mark found out that the lady's name was Nadine. After about an hour, they arrived at her house. He dropped her off and after being able to get her number, Mark left. He was quite disappointed that the Nadine didn't invite him to come in. He just comforted himself with the fact that he was able to get her number.
While he was already near his home, Mark realized that Nadine still had his jacket. He didn't want to turn around and go back so he decided to get it in the morning before work. He thought that it would be another excuse to see Nadine again.
The next morning Mark went to Nadine's house. Her mother answered the door. Mark told the old lady about the ride he had given Nadine and that he had left his jacket with her. Her mother, looking very confused, said in a quivery voice that Nadine had died five years ago. She had been hit by a speeding car on the corner where Mark had picked her up the night before.
Shocked, Mark left a strong urge to visit Nadine's grave. He asked her mother where Nadine was buried. Mark went to the cemetery. There, right on top of Nadine's tombstone, Mark saw his jacket folded neatly.

I write poems, stories and thoughts in life.
Freaky. Reminds me not to pick up hitchhikers. Two interesting takes on a similar concept. Enjoyed reading.
Thank you! Expect for more freakier one. :)
