Homesteaders - Living Naturally, Newsletter. 4th September 2019

Welcome back! Timing of the hardfork meant that it fell on the day I usually publish, so I took a break last week. Hardforks have the word "hard" in for a reason and there were a few hiccups along the way, with a few things still being fixed even now. There has been a delay in some announcements that were planned in the community, but hopefully I will get to share them soon.

It's good to see that most people are back to posting as normal again and there's plenty to share with you this week.

Things happening in the community.

This week's @ecotrain question is a little different. Here's a chance to share something, or someone, on the Steem blockchain that has inspired or taught you.

There is still a little time left to get entries in for the @naturalmedicine herb challenge. It was extended due to the hardfork falling part way through it and with the extra glitches the chances are that the ever lovely @riverflows will allow some leeway if you come in a bit late.

Welcoming Newcomers

A few days ago @chris-free joined us. I hope he wasn't put off by the rough and tumble of the hardfork. In his own words he is, "An avid explorer of life and the Universe. I love to write about anything related to living a better and eco-friendly life with everyone."

Some highlights of the week

I'm always up for discovering new ideas for natural, organic pest control in the garden, so @kindredacres' tips on ways to deal with pickleworm in squash was a must read for me.

There have been a lot of tomatoes being harvested at @amberyooper's, so they've been canning them for future use.

When it comes to resourcefulness, sustainability, reusing, recycling, frugality and, dare I say it, urban permaculture, @ligayagardener has got it all going! He's been updating his rather efficient heater, made from an old window box, if you can believe it.

Finally, I wanted to share @creationofcare's thought provoking blog which combines some of their homesteading struggles with some of the outside struggles we're all facing at the moment.

Yes, all went smoothly! Partiko seems to be the only one still struggling, but that's with notifications, mostly.
Thank you for the extension. Hope you get lots more lovely herb posts.

Awesome! Thanks for choosing our article!! XOXO :) You ought to check out the one I just posted on chicory. I want to spread the word about this amazing herb! A lot of people don't know about it but it is so awesome!

I actually did come across that post and sent curangel your way. I see it's struggling to get past the curve, though, for the votes to be reaching their full value. I'll see if I can drum up a bit more interest before it pays out, because it's valuable post.

I dream of one day being able to sustain our household by homesteadying instead of buying products at the market. This would enable us to save a lot. I would also like to help those farmers who are selling their produce in cheaper price. I mean they deserve more recognition that those capitalists who are benefiting a lot from the system.

And I would like to agree on one post I have read some time ago over Steemit that is alternative economy should be in no time boom so that people would become more responsible of themselves and of the environment.

It would be a much different world if we did live more responsibly, not only for ourselves, but the world around us too.
Thank you four duping by and sharing your thoughts.
