EASY BEE FEEDER - How much did they eat in 5 days?
The Beekeeping Journey
continues into another Autumn, which soon turns to Winter. Getting the hives through the Winter is a bigger challenge up North I suppose, but it's still a concern here in the South as well. The food sources for the bees are greatly reduced. The bees are slowing down and holding close to each other to make it through to Spring when nature really wakes up again.
Five days ago I made and installed these EASY BEE FEEDERS. I wasn't sure how much the bees would need to get them through a week. In this inspection we will see how much they took into the hive after just 5 days.
This is VLOG / BLOG style video so we get to have a little fun too! No horsing around! LOL

Sharing via twitter! I think this is such a easy hack to feeding them!
Hey Blake....maybe I missed it but why are you moving the bees? Is it because of the sun or something else? Also did the bees drink more or less of the syrup than you expected? My guess would have been less syrup left.
You are right in the further north you go the more feed you need. More importantly the damp is a much bigger problem. Especially combined with the cold. Cold dry climates don't actually need wrapping as much as cold damp. When I lived in Kelowna a dry area, I never wrapped had some or better wintering as those that did. My current location grindrod is by the river and suffering from morning fog and slightly cooler. I have to wrap here especially with the stress of the dairy industry.
