Product Spotlight Series #16 - A Plastic Free Call to Arms!
I had an interesting idea… what if, instead of reviewing a zero waste product this week, I shared a shoutout from a company looking for zero waste products instead?
Many homesteaders I know here on Steemit already make their own products or reuse what they can… which means not many people are looking for new products to buy. Why buy and potentially add to the waste stream when you can make your own, right?
But then I thought that if so many of these homesteaders on Steemit already made sustainable products, why not give them a chance to showcase it on a new platform?
There are already online shops for homemade goods like Etsy and initiatives using cryptocurrency like Steembay and Peerhub. But if you are looking for more opportunities to have your products/brand seen, then you might want to look into one of my favorite new shops - the Package Free Shop in NY, USA.
The Package Free shop started as a pop up shop but has recently transitioned into a permanent store! That means they are looking for vendors… which is where you come in!

So if you have a sustainable product (soaps, clothes, candles, tools, etc) that you make on the homestead, apply to be a vendor and have it sold in NY!
Here is why I think this is such a cool opportunity…
- Huge opportunity for brand exposure - Lauren Singer, the owner of the shop, is quickly gaining fame!
- Contributing to the zero-waste / sustainable movement
- More sales!
I get many of my products from this store so this is where many of my Product Spotlights come from. Who knows, if you are interested and become a vendor, I could one day even review your product!

What a great idea. I have not seen or even heard of these here in Ontario, let alone Canada. But then again I live in Rural small town Ontario. Although I have been away to the city this past week and did do some shopping and still nope did not come across anything of the sort. It is encouraging to see a great initiative like this. Thank you for opening my eyes.
