Finding Solutions

One of the windows in my home is having a continuous problem with stains on the outside. It's a window with a very minimal opening so it's very problematic for me to open and clean it every few days. The problem is that due to extreme heat, the rubber on the frame melts and that leaves a black stain on the window. Cleaning from inside is tedious as my hand can reach only to a certain level. I have been complaining this to the building maintenance person and he keeps saying he will get the problem fixed up, but not taking any action.

I like to keep my curtains open all the time so that the sunlight can come in and this is also the place for my indoor plants so morning sunlight they receive from here and hence it's open all the time, but those black stains were looking horrible from inside and it was killing away the show of my living room.

Since the building person was not taking any action, I only had to come up with some solution. I changed the curtain style instead of normal rod curtains I decided to do the roller blinds. In that way I can cover up the top part of the window where there are stains and also have the sunlight coming in for my plants.

Today morning the person came and did the fittings and my living room has a whole new look now. Little changes can make a big difference in the aesthetics of the place. The color of the blinds is blue to go with the color of my dining table chairs upholstery.

This is how it looked before, and you can see the black stains coming down. One little change and such a big difference in the look.

If I keep it fully open, then the stains still show so now, I pull down the blinds till the stains are there.

I removed the old curtains and the hooks also, now I need to get the black holes filled up with white cement

I love this new look of my living room

I am feeling so good with this change, no more sights of the black stains.
