Finding a way to de-stress through origami
I am new to Steemit after hearing about it from my friend @nextgen622. I am interested in using this platform to share my hobbies, including origami, pottery, book folding and photography.
I started doing origami in 2014 when I moved to a new city and started a new job. The job is very stressful and I didn't have many friends so I started folding origami after seeing a graduation art exhibition where the student made many paper cranes and hung them with paper lanterns from the ceiling. I used to fold paper cranes as a kid so decided to buy some paper to decorate my new apartment. After making cranes I decided to look up YouTube videos on how to fold more complicated origami. My origami started off as single sheet pieces but gradually I started doing modular origami and kusudama. Each is usually comprised of 30 pieces of paper and some are made from 60 pieces of paper.
Origami is very calming for me and I love the intricate folds. It takes patience and some origami pieces take many hours to make. Almost three years later I have my own origami display.
I find quilling to have the same effect. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome @aleksandraz. I have not tried quilling before. Thanks for the tips too. I will have a look!
Welcome @snooway!
Thanks for your help @nextgen622
No problem at all. I just wish things were easier for people new to Steemit. It's a good community, although a bit difficult to get use to things at first. Keep at it and let me know if I can help in any way. I might do a post to highlight some of the issues you mentioned.
