The HIVE Honeytrap

It's so nice to see so many people over at HIVE all just getting along. The Honeymoon is magical! They compliment each other, upvote one another; they're so kind and well-mannered. It's the Crypto Woodstock of the new millennium! Hugs and kisses, flowers and hearts, singing and dancing! And members of the HIVE High Council, particularly BlockTrades, are also singing and dancing all the way to the bank... with your money!

Meanwhile, the HIVE drones are all starry-eyed as they watch the HIVE token climb the ranks of www.coingecko.com at #61, overtaking the STEEM token, which has fallen to #74.

The problem, of course, is that their dreamy eyes are looking at a mathematical illusion. They are multiplying the current price by the total supply. The truth is, the HIVE token has no market cap; and in fact, it is ranked #2171 at www.coinmarketcap.com, while STEEM ranks at #67 with a market cap of $60,851,464. Why? Because HIVE has no market!

The price of the HIVE token is based on the very few sales that are taking place from the HIVE hippies who are selling what little amount of STEEM they have, to buy into the HIVE revolution. A bunch of desperate Steem Minnows and Dolphins who are now dreaming of becoming HIVE Killer Bees! What a sad state of affairs to see so much manipulation from a group of disgruntled Steemians on an ego trip. Because that's all this is, an ego trip by a bunch of childish narcissists having a temper tantrum.

Unfortunately, it's the little guys who are falling into this honeytrap. Do you honestly believe that the HIVE High Council, and those who have more than 100,000 STEEM, are actually powering down to buy HIVE tokens?! You're delusional! They have no need to acquire HIVE POWER, they already have it! In essence, this is all about power, and nothing more. And as the Oracle in the Matrix said to Neo, "What do all men with power want? More power."

Those large STEEM accounts that are being powered down are going to park their STEEM into BTC, LTC, EOS, or maybe even TRON!!! Wink, wink! And they're going to sit back and wait for all of you with small accounts of 500, 1000, 5000, 7000, 10000 STEEM to buy HIVE and pray that the price goes up.

But it won't!!! The House of Cards will come tumbling down, and the HIVE High Council will be off with BlockTrades at the Cayman Islands, on the beach, sipping on a sweet daiquiri.

All the while, the little HIVE worker bees will be on their knees, breathless, as they look up at Morpheus, who with his fatherly eyes, gently but rhetorically asks, "Do you think that's air you're breathing now?!"

Wake up people, for as we vulgarly say in the Hip Hop Culture... you're being fucked with no vaseline!

Well, I still hope things on Steam come to their senses. But Steemit was like what you describe here now from the beginning, and when Justin Sun took over, the honeymoon was over, because he murders his children. I can work with governance that has more than me so long as the blockchain works as intended.

BUT STEEM IS NOT WORKING AS INTENDED ANYMORE.

Steem doesn't even have an API endpoint anymore that is not censored. Of course the blockchain itself still has all contents, but there is no way to get to it.

I wish you good luck with master Sun. I really wish for you that you be right. But having seen what I have seen, I am afraid you are kinda being a Muppet.

Great post dude! Very nicely said.

Thank you! And I'm not finished yet!

Isn’t that what Steemit was from the beginning? Bag holders for Ned? I think there’s a lot more to hive but one point I think I saw that I didn’t quite agree with was unlimited hive. Scarcity is an important driver of price. If there’s no scarcity what’s the end?

I think the community of hive will only grow, contrary to what you think.

I appreciate your opinions. It's nice to see a HIVE supporter with manners. We can agree to disagree, but I hope you will reconsider, and reflect on the possibility that my opinion may have some weight; and my opinion is that HIVE is a House of Cards!

It is refreshing to read your post. Although I am not that involved in Steemit anymore, and neither in Hive, the process is interesting enough to follow.

The Hive project will end because it started with the wrong intent.
Apart from that, the Hive fans seem to be unable to stay away from Steemit, and as you also noticed when they speak it is hardly ever a civil conversation.

Thank you for your wise words. The greatest pleasure of an Author is not the upvote, but rather, knowing that readers are enjoying what I am writing. It would be great if more people like you would participate more, as we have too few well-mannered, constructive thinkers on this platform. The HIVE minions are the very people who have always been instigators within the Steem social world. I hope you stick around, as this low moment means there is no place to go but up! ;D

You are absolutely right. I bet more than a few users will feel they finally are going to be noticed now there is more room to breathe so to say.

Got a little stuck on Steemit when I was more active here. It is not that I expected everyone to read what I wrote, but seeing what other posts looked like, the comments if present and the rewards... that didn't motivate me to keep doing this.

Have to say, at the time I thought about quiting, Whaleshares.io started. That platform had its fair share of spamming, scamming and drama, but after HF4, rewards are handled in a different way which makes it not possible or not worth it to game the system. It is more about the comments than the rewards. So I agree with you on that also, the comments, getting to know people, learn about other countries, is really the fun part of writing, of being part of a platform/community.

I'll will be around, but can't promise to be as active as on Whaleshares.

You just keep writing the way you write, people need to hear this too.

Thank you for the encouragement; it's truly needed in these times of cavalier abuse. I have always argued that the failure of Steemit was in the focusing too much on ROI (Return-On-Investment), and the unsuccessful incentivization of the platform. You can't promise to "get paid for your content," and have newcomers always finding zeroes on their posts or comments. Besides, the most important aspect of a social network is, as we both agree, the "social" part. Stay safe my friend, and I'll be looking out for your posts in the future!

lovely way to show your community some love... :-/

well at least there's a few here remaining loyal to the Steem name rather than the community who grew it to be what it is, so Sun has at least a couple left to metaphorically suck his dick and do defend the empty shell of a corporation he used to fuck the community's delegated representatives.

at least he gets something left out of his $10 million or so, after having driven the core community away via the disrespect of publicly slandering its democratically-initiated witnesses as "malicious hackers" rather than attempting to understand the governance model & community culture and extend any sort of peace-offering...
