Pakistan won on the strength of spinners

Pakistan-Africa Test Series
Debutant bowlers Nauman Ali (5/35) and Yasir Shah (4/79) bowled impressively in the second innings as Pakistan thrashed South Africa by seven wickets in the first Test. Pakistan reached the 88-run target set by Africa on the fourth day to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
Left-arm spinners Nauman and Yasir, 34, were bowled out for 245 in the second innings. Openers Aiden Markram (74) and Rahasi van der Dussen (64) put on a 127-run stand for the second wicket, but Africa's innings fell from 175 for one to 192 for six.
Chasing the target, skipper Babar Azam (30) and Azhar Ali (31 not out) made valuable contributions for Pakistan. Fawad Alam, who scored a century in the first innings, became the man of the match. The second Test of the series will be played from February 4.
