I'm Anusha from Sri Lanka. Hope you all are doing great. Here's a great community for die heart fans of cricket. 😍 Moreover you guys have a nice contest for tell about your favorite cricket player. So this is my entry for the contest "Tell us About Your Favorite Cricket Player". 🤗

My all time favorite cricket player is ... Wait... 🙊

Let me give you some hints...

1. He was the former captain of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team.
2. He has scored 10,000 plus runs in both Tests and ODIs.
3. His jersey number is 11.
4. He has also won many international awards.
5. He is a legend in Sri Lankan cricket.

Let me tell you his name. He is non other, then our Kumar Sangakkara. He is the one of the best captain Sri Lanka ever had. Kumar Sangakkara was the cornerstone of Sri Lankan Cricket for close to 15 years. 'Sanga' as he is known to his team mates, is one of cricket's most elegant personalities in the world.

He arrived on the cricket scene in 2000 at the age of 22. He scored 156 against Zimbabwe showing his ability at the first match of his cricket life. Kumar Sangakkara got his playing role as a left handed batsman and started keeping wickets as well. He was probably one of the most sound batsmen and a brilliant wicket keeper of the 21st century.

I like him because he is a multi talented player and a true leader. With his consistence performance, he produced many memorable moments in cricket and uplifted name Sri Lanka all over the world. Well, I really love the way he plays and I respect his intense passion for cricket. Another thing is his coolness and never giving up attitude. It helped him earn some achievements that hold valuable importance at the international level. He was named ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2011 and 2013 and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year 2012.

After playing close to 500 international games for Sri Lanka, the all time great cricketer retired from cricket in 2015. As much as he is stylish with the bat on the field, he is equally intelligent and effective off it. Kumar Sangakkara is a complete person in the truest sense of the word. I like to name him as The greatest hero of our time ❤️
