RE: 스팀 DAO의 SBD를 이용해서 스팀을 매수/소각하는 방안에 대한 개인적인 단상
I don't think anyone can fully predict how this project will evolve. Therefore, there will be a cautious approach. Since the proposal is being put forward as an SPS, it depends on the community whether it is implemented or not. We witnesses alone cannot do anything without the SP owners. We can "only" make a proposal (and develop the corresponding skipts), keep it transparent and explain it as best we can.
This also means that the proposal can be cancelled at any time.
I would also like to remind you that the SBD was not intended as an investment at all. It was intended to represent the balance against the dollar (hence the name). The value of the SBD should therefore be around one dollar at all times. In this respect, we want to try to slowly restore this situation.
I don't know if there are investors who have bought SBD to increase their capital. If we look at who the biggest SBD owners are, I suspect there won't be that many influential ones. cold.dunamu will be an exchange wallet that may not be active (cold).

I wrote this post because I believe this issue needs to be discussed openly, rather than behind closed doors. Many Korean Steemians don't know this kind of discussion is actually taking place.
Regardless of original intention behind SBD concept, its price will be determined by supply and demand. I think we should think about the possibility of SBD crashing below $1. If SBD crash begins at external markets(exchanges), it will most probably cause internal SBD markets to go down. In that scenario, we won't be able to buy back SBD becuase STEEM acquired by selling SBD is already burned away.
Currently, total SBD supply is about 13m. As you presented the list, majority of SBD is in UPBIT exchange(7m). This means majority of investors/speculators are trading SBD in UPBIT. My guess is that if SBD crashes for whatever reason it will most likely start from UPBIT's SBD market and then it will influence Steemit's internal market.
I'm not predicting the future. I'm just worried about massive backfire if this proposal goes forward without seriously considering possible reaction of external STEEM/SBD markets. Moreover, I'm not totally against the idea. Rather, I just don't think this is the right time to do this because I don't think current status/popularity/stability of STEEM/SBD ecosystem is solid enough.
I hope there will be more active discussions and exchange of ideas regarding this issue and STEEM DAO in general. Thanks!
I think it's right that the discussion is also being held in the Korean community.
As I have already written, the users must finally support the proposal. That's why they need to know about it.
I very much hope that more people will speak up here.
Nobody really knows what will happen. But we should consider and weigh up all the possibilities.
