Join me on a night photography adventure in Hamburg

in DTube3 years ago

This time I tried something different:
Night photography aka long exposure photography at night.

I made all the images with a sony a6400 with minimum 6sec exposure time and various lenses. If you have any questions just let me know!

I recorded the whole evening with the DJI pocket 2 which surprised me with a well enough image quality at night. In combination with the wireless mic from the creator combo it's a really good setup for this kind of videos. I enjoyed this trip a lit and I am going to do this more often in future. Feel free to subscribe to not miss the next video / livestream of me making photos in Hamburg!

Thx for your support, comments and for watching of course.Peace!

Lenses I have used: Canon 200mm f4, Sigma 16mm f1.4, Sony SEL18135 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6, Sony SAL35F18 35mm f1.8

Ahah, yes, I get the shyness too. Here's an observation I made recently. If I'm walking around town and talking to a friend in a video call, I don't give a fuck. If I'm recording a video, I freak out. So there might be some mindset game I can play to put myself in the video call frame of mind when there's nobody actually there!

Since I normally don't do video calls on the street I was not able to recognize that ^^ So thx for the observation and suggested mindgame :) I will try that out for sure. Also I guess when it comes to taking photos it could help to think as a tourist. I will try those two things soon when I go in the inner city of hamburg to make some long exposures :)

This was such a fun video. The quality of that Osmo and, the audio in particular, was outstanding. I'd so love to come on a photoshoot with you. I've done similar night time shoots and it can be pretty cold. In summer I've got some great shots when the sky doesn't get completely dark, but summer shooting after sundown here is pretty much impossible because of the midges.

My favourite style of shooting is street in the daytime, but it's pretty scary, especially with like a 35mm or 50mm (full frame). It's way easier with a longer lens in terms of not getting noticed by your subjects, but it kinda takes away some of the thrill too. My best ever set of street shots were after Steemfest3 in Krakow when everyone had left and I had two whole days to myself in the city.

Thank you! It was fun for me too :) Yeah Krakow is beautiful and I think that have seen some of your photos of this time :) Going out with you would be a blast! Let's meet in the post-corona time somewhere and go out for a good long walk with good conversations and photos! Perhaps in London with @adetorrent? :P To be honest I purchased the 200mm lens for the lazy street photography solution but I think it will be way to heavy to carry around for some hours xD I think I will stick to going out at night for now to avoid people and to learn more about manual settings. For sure daytime is way more exciting and my goal is to go out confident and take pictures at daytime. But for now I am just working on it :P
