World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on June 14 every year. This is a global celebration that aims To raise awareness about the Importance of blood donation and appreciate the contribution of blood donors who have saved the lives of many people around the world.

World Blood Donor Day was first Celebrated In 2004 as The result of a Joint Initiative By the World Health Organization (WHO), The International
Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) ,The International Federation of Blood Donor Societies (FIDDI) ,and the Red Cross Organization .and the International Red Crescent (IFRC).

The main aim of this celebration is To increase public awareness about the need for a safe and adequate blood supply. Blood donation is an important resource in saving human lives, both In emergency situations and for curing chronic diseases. The day also provides an opportunity for health agencies and humanitarian organizations to organize blood donation campaigns, seminars and other social events To encourage community participation.

During World Blood Donor Day, people around the world are invited to support and participate in blood donation activities. Safe and voluntary blood donation is essential To meet the growing need for blood In hospitals and health care centres. In addition, on this day it is also important To remind people of the criteria for blood donation, such as age limit, health condition, and adherence To safe blood donation procedures.
