What do you know about the day?

November 9 is celebrated as National Day in Pakistan. Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on this day, i.e., November 9, 1877. This day is celebrated every year on November 9 in Pakistan with great zeal. November 9 is also called Iqbal Day. Allama Iqbal was a great poet. Iqbal got an early education from his house. Then he went to England, and from there he obtained the degree of Bar at Law. But Allama Iqbal gave more attention to his poetry. His poetry had a lot of influence. Through his poetry, he taught Muslims to attain a separate homeland. Ultimately, with the efforts and hard work of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan came into existence on August 14, 1947. Allama Iqbal played a big role in creating Pakistan. Therefore, every year on November 9, this day is celebrated in his memory.

How do you, your country, or your organization celebrate the day?

Allama Iqbal had dedicated his entire life to creating Pakistan. His poetry had such an impact that Muslims came to peace only after attaining a separate homeland. Therefore, this day is celebrated with great respect in his memory. Before the start of this day, different preparations are done in schools, colleges, and universities. Students prepare speeches, national songs, and tributes to him. There are debate competitions among students. The theme of this competition is based on the poetry of Allama Iqbal. Students who win this competition are also given prizes. Apart from this, songs are played on the National TV channel to pay respect to Allama Iqbal.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration?

This day has great impacts on our community.As soon as this day starts, a gun salute is given to pay respect to Allama Iqbal. On this day, the poetry of Allama Iqbal is on every person's lips. On this day, a large number of people go to his tomb to offer Fatiha. On this day, programs are broadcast on the national TV channel in memory of Allama Iqbal. On this day, every person's spirits are high, especially the youth, who believe that we will keep the thought of Allama Iqbal alive.

What issue or concern will you recommend being commemorated this week, and on what date?

I want to remember and observe this week, Tuesday, November 9, 2023. Because this day is also the birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. And on this night, I also have to prepare to celebrate my birthday. After spending the whole day in memory of Allama Iqbal, I will prepare to celebrate my birthday at night. This way, this day will become memorable for me. I will include this day among the memorable days of my life.
