Steem Cameroon Contest - Presidential Inauguration Day (Nigeria)

Hello great friends, I'm happy to participate in this wonderful contest for the week again where I will have to explain or talk about a special day set aside here in my country. Today, you are going to know something special again about Nigeria.

I will be talking about a special day set aside in the country because of the significance of this day, people always have a vacation or break as it is declared a work-free day by the government. Let's see the contest tips to have a clear idea of this special day.

What do you know about the day? (Make sure you mention the actual date) (50 -100 wards)

Presidential inauguration day is one of the days in the year that is set aside to remember the integration of the new president if it's not the time to inaugurate one. This day is usually the 29th of May.

During this day, everyone working is given a break from work because of the celebration. Though this celebration is done majorly when a new president is elected after every 4 years. So on every 29th of May, the government gives a public holiday so that the citizens enjoy and remember that special day.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day? (50-100 words)

As I have said earlier, on this day, normally if it is the period when an election has already been conducted, the people send a representative to Abuja the capital of the country where the inauguration is done properly. Here the army and other special forces will do a parade and then a sworn-in by the judge will also be done where the president will take an oath of allegiance.

After all the official ceremonies, there will be a display of different organizations or bodies and then a serious refreshment will follow as it is a day of great joy in the country having a new president. If it's not the year for such, the government gives a public holiday for people to relax and get work off.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration? (50-100 words)

Well since it's a period when a new president is sworn in, then people will expect much from the new president. In most cases, when a new president comes on board, he brings the price of goods and makes many promises so that the common man will also benefit from it.

So the impact we get as a community during this period is that we can enjoy a few things that were originally difficult for the masses. In this way, the community celebrates with joy for the new administration.

What issue or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and on what date?

For this week, I will want the country to celebrate poverty alleviation day. This is because the poverty hitting the people of the country at this moment is much higher than expected. People starve to death now because of a lack of food.

Instead of providing for the people, the government is instead starving the masses which has made a lot of people go into different things that are not supposed. They can be better if they are being cared for by the government.
