Steem Cameroon Contest - National Day Off (Nigeria)

Hello Steemians, I'm happy to write again in this community today on the topic of National Day off for my best country Nigeria. Some days remain very special in every country and the case of Nigeria is no different.

Because of how important the National Day of the country is, a day off has also been added to it, and that is what I will be discussing today. I hope you will find this content attractive as I try to answer the questions that follow.

What do you know about the day? (Make sure you mention the actual date) (50 -100 wards)

National day off is always on the 2nd of October every year. I have already written about the national day which is celebrated every 1st October. Given how important this day is, the second day has been declared a day off for all Nigerian workers.

National day off is a day where workers are given a day off in line with the celebration of the National Day which took place a day before that very day. So workers are allowed to rest at home in the spirit of the celebration.

Both the government and private sector respect this day because of the great impact it has on the country. Recall that the national day is the day the country got its independence from the colonial masters.

How do you your country or your organization celebrate the day? (50-100 words)

Just like I have said above, the way this is celebrated is by giving a day off to the workers and allowing them to rest and have leisure time with their friends and families. It is a period of celebration hence some organisation goes as far as sharing foodstuffs or other palliative to their workers.

The country allows individual and corporate organizations to celebrate it the way they want to. Here you are just free for the day to do what you want to do as there is no work for you on that day.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration? (50-100 words)

Well, my community always experiences a full house i.e. those who are not available because of their work always come around and that makes the community full. Those with work come home to rest and those without work also try to mingle with them to become like them.

In almost every case, there are chances of new people getting work within and after the celebration because many people come around thereby bringing forth opportunities to others who have none. A lot of people always get good jobs after the commemoration.

What issue or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and on what date?

The week is just beginning and I do like that a special day be set aside for children. Children should always be celebrated and I wish that children should be celebrated on the 30th of August this very month. With such a celebration, we will give the children awareness of how important they are in the world today.
