INTRODUCTION
Greetings my friends, how are you all doing? I trust you're all fine and enjoying your day.
I'm happy to be part of this interesting contest in the @steem-cameroon Community, and the theme is Write about your favorite community in Steemit platform
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ELECTION IN YOUR COUNTRY?
In my country Nigeria, election are held every four years when the president, governor and the house of representatives have completed their term, the different political partie will select their candidate that will represent their party, then the independent National electoral commission (INEC) will conduct an election where the citizens will come out to vote their choice.
But to me i think this is not the right way to go about this because it's always end up in fighting and killing one another, and i hate that so much, so i think the best think to do is for yhe government and INEC team to come up with an online platform where people can use their mobile phones to vote for their new leaders in other to avoid fighting and killing people.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE ELECTORAL SYSTEM IN YOUR COUNTRY?
In Nigeria we are practicing democratic system of government, and in this type the citizens will come out to vote and be vited for during election.
In my country election is free, but is not fair, and the reason am saying this is because after the presidential election they were supposed go released the results immediately, but instead it took them days before they finally released it.
HOW IS IT DONE IN YOUR COUNTRY?
source
In my country Nigeria, the way election is done is that the citizens will have to register at the INEC and get their permanent voters card(PVC).
They will fix the date for the election, but before then the politicians will used the remaining days to do their campaign.
On the election day, the citizens will have to go to their own ward, and there all the voters will be standing in a straight line to cast their vite to the candidate of their choice, which they will collect the ballot paper after undergoing verification, and on that ballot paper each party logo are in different boxes, the voter will have to thumb print on the empty box behind it's party logo.
After the election, the people conducting the election which are the presiding officer(PO), assistant presiding officer (APO) one to three will have to count the ballot papers for the voters to see and know the results.
IS IT TRANSPARENT AND FAIR IN YOUR COUNTRY?
Like i said earlier, in my country election is free but i don't thino it's transparent and fair because of what the independent National electoral commission (INEC) did, there were supposed to announce the results after the election, instead they kept it for days.
WHAT SOLUTIONS CAN YOU PROPOSE TO ENSURE IT BEING CARRIED OUT THE RIGHT WAY IF IT'S NOT FAIR AND EFFECTIVE?
When they introduced BVAS machine used for voting, i thought election will be fair and Transparent, but it wasn't, they still found a way to rig and manipulate things.
Like i said earlier the government and the INEC team should create an online decentralized platform where the people can sign in with thei phone to vote, i think ot would be better that way.
This is the end of my post on Election in my country, thank you so much for going through it..... God bless 🙏

You have written so well, I must say you shared your thoughts on the elections stressing that they are free but not fair, you suggested that these elections be conducted online as it is best way to avoid fighting and violence during the electoral process. Success in the challenge my friend #steem-on
