Sunday is a day of spiritual renewal, family bonding and for personal responsibilities. My Sundays are always packed with lots of activities that encompass my morning devotion, going to church and personal duties. Here’s a detailed account on how I spend my Sunday, from morning till night.

My Sunday began early with a serene morning devotion with my family this set time of prayer and reflection sets a peaceful tone for the day ahead. Afterward, I move on to cleaning the house. This chore, though seemingly mundane, feels rewarding as it symbolizes the start of a new week with a fresh, tidy environment. Once the house is in order, I get ready for church, preparing myself both mentally and physically for the worship and fellowship that await.

At Church

I arrive at church quite early to attend the 7 am Bible study. This session provides a deeper understanding of scriptures and fosters a sense of together. Here we share interpretations and insights on the scriptures. Following the Sunday School class, was the main service which started by 9 am. The service opens with a choir ministration with praise and worship session where the melodious hymns and harmonious voices uplift the congregation. Thereafter was followed by a lively praise and worship session that allows us to express our gratitude and devotion through song and dance.

The service proceeds with two Bible lessons. The first lesson, Genesis 26:1-22, narrates the story of Isaac and the wells he dug, symbolizing persistence and God’s provision. The second lesson, John 19:11-22, recounts the trial of Jesus before Pilate, emphasizing divine authority and sacrifice. Here, we saw that even in the face of human authority and judgment, divine purposes prevailed.
These lessons lay the foundation for the sermon, delivered by the Minister on the topic "Irreversible Blessings." The sermon delves into how God's blessings and steadfastness are unchanging, providing a source of hope and reassurance. The Minister also added; in a world where so much is uncertain and changeable, it is comforting to know that, God's blessings are steadfast and unchanging. He also took time to delve into the Scriptures for better understanding of the nature of these blessings and how they manifest in our lives.

The service concludes with the offering and a benediction, sending us forth with a spiritual recharge 😀🤩

Returning home from church, I immediately begin cooking for my family. Preparing a hearty meal of rice/beans and stew with well fried fish and chicken. This is a way of expressing love and care, for my family and also to ensur everyone is nourished and ready for the week ahead. After lunch, I embarked on a trip to my duty station at 4 pm.

The journey to my duty station, unfortunately, it was quite taxing. The road from Uyo to Calabar is notoriously and terribly bad, filled with potholes and uneven surfaces that make travel slow and uncomfortable. Heavy trucks dominated the road, kicking up dust and making visibility poor for smaller vehicles. By the time I arrive at my destination at 7 pm, I am often weary from the stressful trip.

Despite the exhaustion, I followed a routine to ensure I am prepared for the new week's activities. When I arrived home, I took a shower to wash off the dust and fatigue of the journey, then had a light dinner. I rested by 8 pm, allowing my body to recuperate. This rest is crucial as it enables me to wake up refreshed and ready for the responsibilities that await me on Monday morning.

Finally, my Sundays are a blend of spiritual nourishment, family care, and professional commitment. Each activity, from morning devotion to evening rest, plays a significant role in preparing me for the week ahead. Despite the challenges, especially the stressful journey, Sundays remain a cornerstone of my weekly routine, providing balance and purpose.
