Stop complaining and keep posting your diary ( The issues with newbies ). They need support and encouragement.
It's almost two weeks the season two diary game started, and almost every platform/communities are filled with countless posts from great steemian across the world. It's a good thing that the number of participants is increasing on a daily basis, but how are we managing or selling steemit blog to newbies?
First, it lies with us inviting people to join
When we hype steemit as a platform where wealth is guaranteed to potential bloggers all in the name of getting recognition, we are creating a journey that won't end as expected. When we onboard anyone, one key thing that should keep ringing is retention.
So how can we retain the newbies we bring on board?
The first thing is our marketing strategy. Are we telling them that vote is guaranteed? If some of us have been seeing votes on our posts frequently, it's still not enough to hype newbies. Sure votes would come when they come on board, but when they join with the mindset that is not too expectant, they become astonished at every vote they get, and before you know it, they key into the system and blog with fun.
Secondly, are we doing any follow up on them? I saw many group leaders complaining about their members not active. Let's follow them up and get them back. It doesn't matter how long they've posted. We can always try our best and leave the rest.
We also need to support them. One way we can do that is through advising them to post their introduction post in #newcomercommunity and start counting their achievements one after another, and also upvoting(no matter how little) and commenting on their posts with encouraging words. If there is any newbie we come in contact with that has not done his/her introduction post, we can also guide such a person.
Stop complaining and keep posting
One of the recent post by @steemitblog touched many sides, but the part I'm picking is the new rule which states that playing the diary game is optional. If you continue posting, you will get vote, if you stop you won't get vote.
We've had countless posts in #thediarygame and it will not cease coming day by day until the 50days is over. The more posts keeps coming, the more challenges for curators. This is one thing I want all of us to understand. If your post is not voted and it expires, please keep posting. @steemcurator01 gave huge upvotes today on various accounts considering their expired posts. If they had stopped posting, there won't be an avenue to cover up for the bygones. Note that every post that follows the diary game rules has its point/points, so don't give up posting your diary for a reason like "I've not gotten any upvote on my posts".
The resources to vote according to @steemitblog is unlimited, as they give more than $1000 vote per day, and other curators are also supporting in their little way, so don't be discouraged. Keep playing the game.

Thanks for reading.
Letting in potential steemians with the only selling factor being the big upvote they'd get right from day one has by far done a bi damage to the on-boarding process. So, you are right, let's preach the steem news with a promise of getting a chance to not only connect with people around the globe but as well be economically free with steem being your entrance to the future, crypto. #onepercent #kenya
You nailed it man. Everyone should have a future mindset with steem and this should be preached to every potential steemian. Thanks a lot.
Big points raised here @beautychicks. We dare not make promises that are hard to keep. We should rather encourage our potential recruits to be active and engage with others. They need to know that support will eventually come, although on a gradual basis. Thank you for this orientation post. It will go a long way. Hope you are having a great day.
Thanks @focusnow. Making promises to lure people into doing something they are not passionate about would result in failure. I hope many understands this.
