Hey Steemian friends!

Aren’t we all love surprises! Maybe not birthdays, but surprises.. Oh yes! Every day please. But since birthdays are so special, we can expect someone to throw us a surprise. I had such surprises from my family and my wife. But every time, I knew something was happening behind my back. So, I let it happen anyhow, with a chuckle and a wink. 😂

👉 What do you think about surprise birthdays, is it an option that you would like to give or receive, explain why?

I think both options are open to me! I’m good at organizing them so usually I organize surprise parties for everyone. Be it my family, friends or colleagues. I can stay under the radar for so many hours and just surprise them with blast. I get immense joy by seeing the expressions on my loved ones at those moments. So, I would lean more towards being the giver of surprises than the receiver.

I think surprises are a great way to show our loved ones that we care them and we take that extra step to make them feel special. By doing such small gesture even for a day can bring an extra dose of happiness to their entire year. So, to make life exciting & thrilling, I believe such surprise celebrations should be there.

As I told I organized many over the years, but what I love the most is what I pulled off for my wife that I'll never forget. She had no idea about my entire plan throughout the day and that was the best part of it.

On her birthday, I decided to play a little role, 😇 pretending I'd forgotten her birthday. Then suddenly in the evening, I told her that I almost forgot her birthday and apologized sincerely. In order to make it up to her I told her that we should have a dinner out. She was a bit upset about forgetting her birthday but she agrees to go out since I said sorry for the early mistake.

Meanwhile, I had planned this weeks ago and I had booked a beachfront restaurant and secretly invited our friends to gather there and surprise her as soon as she walked in.

And this is what happens.. 😃

She was really surprised and shocked for a moment thinking how all these familiar faces here at the same time! Little did she know that it was my Oscar worth performance 🙈. We had a great evening and my mission was successful.

👉 What would your perfect birthday celebration be like?

As I grow older, my ideal birthday celebration has shifted from crazy parties to simpler and more meaningful experiences. These days, I want to be with my family and nature. I love to hike up some mountain and spend the night camping under the stars, singing my favourite songs around a campfire. This would be a perfect birthday celebration for me. I don’t know whether it’ll change over time.
