Ya es la noche del domingo, estoy terminando el día y mañana es el primer día de la semana laboral en #Venezuela, pero en mi caso, trabajo desde casa todavía, así que en apariencia no hay mucho cambio. Por otra parte, mi Tío paterno, que fue atropellado por una moto el viernes pasado, está aún hospitalizado, según los resultados de imagenología médica, tiene fracturas de costilla y de pómulo, le duele y está incómodo, pero está mucho mejor de lo que se podría creer al ver el vídeo del accidente. Nos mantenemos en contacto para saber como está, pero tenemos que ir a visitarlo pronto

Para mi registro, escogí esta efemérides, porque me afecta en lo personal, supongo que recordaras que dije más arriba que mi primo regresó a Perú, allí emigró con su familia hace unos años, porque las condiciones económicas que tenía en Venezuela eran muy miserables y no le veía mejora en un futuro cercano, él deseaba una mejor calidad de vida y oportunidades para sus hijos, así que asumió el reto y se lanzó a migrar.
Al igual que él, buena parte de mis familiares cercanos se fueron de Venezuela, así resulta ahora que los tengo distribuidos por siete países en distintos continentes. He de decir que suelo tener cierta costumbre de revisar registros históricos, así que puedo decir que mi país, durante el Siglo XX y parte del Siglo XXI, era un país receptor de migrantes, pero era muy poco frecuente que los nativos de mi país migraran a otras latitudes, solían ir por estudios o trabajo a otros países, pero siempre con la fecha de retorno y con los planes de hacer su vida acá.

Eso ha cambiado, en los últimos 5 años se estima que 7,1 millones de habitantes dejaron Venezuela con planes de establecerse, trabajar y vivir en otros países, partiendo de que nuestra población no es muy grande (creo que estábamos cerca de los 33 o 35 millones de personas), se notaba mucho el hecho de perder esa cantidad de gente en un tiempo relativamente corto, además de que en su mayoría era gente en edades económicamente activas, muchas de estas personas eran formadas como profesionales y técnicos, y en varios casos, si bien mandaban remesas de dinero para ayudar a subsistir a los familiares que se quedaban en Venezuela, el plan final era llevarse al resto de la familia y comenzar su vida en otros países.
Es algo que me resulta duro de pensar, pero entiendo todo esto al considerar que los indicadores de la economía están horribles, además de que he vivido en carne propia los efectos de las erradas políticas económicas, que más bien parecen políticas suicidas y autodestructivas, que además de lo mal que estaban, se han combinado con efectos de problemas económicos globales, derivados de la tensión entre Estados Unidos y China, la caída de los precios del petróleo, luego vino la pandemia de Covid19, ahora se suman los efectos de la Guerra de Rusia invadiendo a Ucrania… En verdad que estábamos mal y el resto del mundo tampoco ayuda a que la situación mejore.

Debido a las experiencias de mis primos y mis primas, puedo decir que este señalamiento es bien acertado, es triste, pero siempre hay gente que trata de aprovecharse de la desgracia ajena y trata de explotar a las personas que tienen problemas y que están luchando por sobrevivir. Ahora tenemos familiares regados por todo el mundo, las familias se han fragmentado, los migrantes de nuestro país en ocasiones son mal recibidos en otros países y explotados como ha mencionado en su post, esto es lo que tenemos ahora y sin saber cuándo acabará y cuando retornarán a nuestro país.

Eso último de no saber cuando cambiaran las cosas en Venezuela, es justamente lo que más llega a preocuparme. Leí hace poco a un economista, que creo que tiene cerca de mi edad, decir que no tenía expectativas de ver en lo que le quedaba de vida un retorno de Venezuela a los niveles económicos de inicio de Siglo XXI.
Eso me sonó bastante creíble, y él lo explicó detalladamente, de verdad que está muy difícil lograr una recuperación económica en el plazo de unos pocos meses, como prometen algunos políticos demagogos, siendo más creíble que puede tomarnos décadas lograr retomar el camino perdido en la economía.
Con ese panorama, resulta poco probable que los migrantes que se fueron regresen. Tiene que ser que les esté yendo demasiado mal en el país donde estén, pero si regresan, puede que se arrepientan, pues el país al que regresan no es ni de cerca el que ellos dejaron.
